    We've been telling you about a bridge collapse in Skipton.

    If you're not familiar with what the area looked like before, this is it:

    And then at about 15:30 this afternoon, the area collapsed, leaving two cars in a beck.

    There have been no injuries reported and police have closed the nearby road.

    Police and the fire service are at the scene of a bridge collapse in Skipton this evening.

    North Yorkshire Police have confirmed that no one was in the cars at the time and that no one has been injured.

    The area was used as a car park for nearby businesses.

    Two cars have fallen into a beck below while several others are on the edge.

    Police have closed Coach Street and nearby buildings have been evacuated.

    A bridge has collapsed in Skipton plunging at least two cars into the beck below.

    It happened just after 15:30 and North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service say no one has been injured.

    The area is used as a car park for local businesses - and those buildings have been evacuated.

    Gas and electrical engineers are heading to the scene to make the area safe.

    Ok, so we really don't want to tempt fate, but it looks as though the city centres are running very smoothly - almost as if most people have left work early.

    It's not such a great picture on the motorways though, there's congestion after J24 westbound on the M62 and this accident on the M18 in South Yorkshire:

    Buildings in Skipton have been evacuated after a bridge collapsed in the town this afternoon.

    At least two cars have fallen into a beck, with some others teetering over the edge.

    We're getting reports that a bridge has collapsed in Skipton.

    At least two cars have been damaged, North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue say there are no casualties.

    A tram has derailed in Sheffield this afternoon:

    In a statement Stagecoach said "One of our trams was involved in a low-speed incident outside the Nunnery deport shortly before 13:00 today.

    "The tram was out of service at the time and no-one was injured. As a result the Yellow route service between Cricket Inn Road and Arena was temporarily suspended."

    The service has now resumed.

  12. Travel update: Queues on the M62 and M1published at 16:07 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2018

    Do you know what, Yorkshire's city centres are looking fine so far this afternoon as we approach what would be the traditional rush hour.

    However, on the motorways things aren't looking as great, this is the M62 westbound and it's like this for about 11 miles from J24.

    There's no clear reason for any of the delays, it may be that people have left work early en masse.

  15. Watch: Flights resume at Leeds Bradford Airportpublished at 15:44 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2018

    Flights have resumed at Leeds Bradford Airport after the runway was closed for much of the day due to snow and ice.

    This KLM flight to Amsterdam was the first to take to the skies.

    The airport hailed its ground crew for clearing the snow and called it a "fantastic effort from all the team".

    There are, of course, plenty of people who love the snow in Yorkshire and we've also seen quite a few animals enjoying themselves today.

    But forget that, these are proper Yorkshire polar bears, seemingly enjoying the snow!

    Yorkshire Wildlife Park in Doncaster tweeted these pictures earlier today saying "At least these guys appreciate the snow and ice!"

  17. Pupils enjoyed 'unusual but splendid day'published at 15:28 Greenwich Mean Time 28 February 2018

    We've shown you a lot of pictures of struggling cars and people trying their best to make their way through the snow.

    So it's nice to see some people enjoying it!

    The school opened as normal this morning, but had to close this afternoon.

    One hundred students and staff made it in this morning, the Assistant Headteacher Joanna Rhodes described it as an "unusual but splendid day".

    We've all made it to the afternoon, despite the snow trying its best to keep us all away from school and work.

    But what does the weather hold in store for us this afternoon in Yorkshire?

    The latest forecast for our region is for sunny spells and snow this afternoon with more scattered snow showers this evening and overnight.

    Minimum temperatures though will get down as low as -5C.

    Tomorrow we can expect a bitterly cold and windy day with an exceptional wind chill and a few snow showers at times.
