    Tears For Fears have postponed their forthcoming UK and Ireland tour - It was due to start in Leeds this month.

    The band cited "unforeseen health concerns" and had been due to start their tour at Leeds Arena on 27 April.

    In a statement released today they said they had postponed the dates due to "doctor's orders" and they have been rescheduled for early 2019.

    In the statement they said: "Tears For Fears apologise to their fans and are extremely sorry for any inconvenience caused. "

    Tickets for 2018 shows will be valid for the 2019 show, except for Glasgow and Birmingham where the venues have changed.

  2. Cannons go on display in Bradfordpublished at 12:40 British Summer Time 18 April 2018

    Two 10-foot, 68 pound cannons went on temporary display in the centre of Bradford this morning.

    As part of World Heritage Day, were transported into Centenary Square and date back more than 150 years to the Napoleonic wars.

    People will be able to get close to the cannons, take selfies and learn about their history before they go on final display at Roberts Park.

    You'll be able to see them until 14:00.

    A Yorkshire nursing home is offering new nurse recruits a free holiday in the sun and company car, in an attempt to deal with what it says is a staffing crisis in the industry.

    Saint Cecilia's Nursing Home in Scarborough is also offering a £31,000 a year salary and other benefits in the welcome package for new registered nurses.

    It's owner Mike Padgham, who's also head of the organisation that represents care home owners across the country, says recruiting good nursing staff is the "hardest it's been in living memory."

    Police say a man's in hospital with a suspected stab wound after an incident in Doncaster.

    Officers were called to Priory Place around 07:00 BST today.

    They say a 26-year-old man is in a serious but not life-threatening condition.

    A 27-year-old man has been arrested and remains in custody.

    A Sunday roast dinner and some shopping was followed by a heart attack for Bob Reville.

    Thankfully he recovered and is now to take part in what's hoped will be a new world record for the largest gathering of cardiac arrest survivors in one place.

    The event , external will be held in June in Essex.

    Bob was at the Meadowhall shopping centre when he had his heart attack.

    A 14-year-old boy has been taken to hospital this morning after he was found with serious injuries in Mirfield.

    West Yorkshire Police say they were called at about 08:50 BST to "reports of a concern for safety".

    It happened on Southway on the London Park estate - eyewitnesses say that a "large section of the estate was cordoned off with police tape".

    Officers say that their enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.

  7. Man charged with sexual assault in Doncasterpublished at 11:13 British Summer Time 18 April 2018

    A man's been charged after a 14-year-old girl reported that she'd been the victim of a sexual assault in Hexthorpe Park earlier this week in Doncaster.

    The 23-year-old man is due in court today to face the charge after being remanded in custody.

    An eyewitness at the scene of an "ongoing incident" in Mirfield says that she has seen "four police cars and a van in the London Park Estate".

    She said that "large section of the estate was cordoned off with police tape".

    Hundreds of new homes could be built on the sites of the former Goldthorpe and Carlton collieries.

    Barnsley Council has given permission for more than 100 homes on the Goldthorpe site, but it's not clear when they might be built.

    There's a longer-term plan for more homes in Carlton.

    A man who spent three years on the run after raping a sex worker at knifepoint has been jailed for eight years.

    Miroslav Cicak, 24, attacked the woman in the Girlington area of Bradford in April 2014, forcing her to perform a sex act on him.

    He then fled the country and was not arrested until August 2017 when he was discovered living in Germany.

    Cicak, of Stubley Lane, Dronfield, was found guilty of rape after a trial at Leeds Crown Court.

    It's hoped work to transform a part of York city centre will start early next year.

    The proposals, announced yesterday, include work to replace a car park around the 13th Century Clifford's Tower with a new public space and the transformation of the city's Foss Basin, with water-based leisure activities.

    Organisers of the Tour de Yorkshire, external say star rider Mark Cavendish will take part in this year's event.

    They say he's recovered from injury sooner than expected after a dramatic crash in Milan in March.

    Barnsley will be the only place in the region to exhibit a rare collection of toys, all with a Star Wars theme.

    It's free to get in to the exhibition at Experience Barnsley but demand for the first weekend is expected to be high so people are being advised to book, external .

    A West Yorkshire DJ has created a techno track from the sounds of supermarket self-service checkouts.

    Self Checkout Riddim was created by Leeds-based musician, Ben Suffield.

    It features well-known self service phrases such as "unexpected item in bagging area" and "please take your change".

    The track's been listened to thousands of times on SoundCloud and YouTube.

    Ben says he was inspired to write the song, after buying a mispriced £3 meal deal.

    Bradford has celebrated its first-ever curry awards.

    Businesses and individual were rewarded last night for their contribution to the food industry.

    Restaurant Prashad in Drighlington, between Bradford and Leeds, (pictured) did particularly well winning Chef of the Year, Vegetarian Restaurant of the Year, Best Customer Service and a special appreciation award.

    Judges visited the restaurants as mystery diners and awarded points for each of the sections.

    Three hundred guests attended the ceremony at the presentation at the Cedar Court Hotel, in Bradford's Rooley Lane, yesterday evening.

    Thieves who ripped a hole in the roof of a building used by a charity in Barnsley got away with just £3 in cash - old coins that can no longer be used.

    They also took two strimmers but caused thousands of pounds' worth of damage.

    Once the news spread on social media, however, the community acted quickly and the roof was fixed for free by local builders and other trades are offering their services.
