    I'll be bringing you all the latest as Stage 3 of the Tour de Yorkshire, external gets under way in Richmond this afternoon.

    The race is due to set off at about 13:10 and to celebrate, the market town is full of blue and yellow decorations and the sun is out to welcome the riders...

    The first job for South Yorkshire's new mayor will be helping the leaders of Sheffield, Barnsley, Doncaster and Rotherham councils reach an agreement on devolution.

    So far they've failed to agree as some of the authorities still prefer the idea of a devolution deal for the whole of Yorkshire.

    An elderly lady has had her bag, containing £140 in cash, snatched in Bradford.

    The 83-year-old was walking on North Park Road when a man approached her from behind last Monday.

    He grabbed her bag and ran off into Lister Park.

    Police are looking for man believed to be in his late teens or early 20s.

    Labour MP Dan Jarvis has been elected as the first mayor of the Sheffield City Region.

    The ex-solider will lead the Combined Authority but currently has no extra powers or funds at his disposal due to a devolution deadlock in the region.

    Jarvis received 144,154 votes after second preference votes were counted, Conservative Ian Walker came second with 50,619 votes.

    He was chosen by voters in Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.

    A total of 25.82% of the electorate - 260,260 - turned out to vote in the election.

    Dan Jarvis, Labour MP for Barnsley central, has been elected as South Yorkshire's first mayor.

    During his winning speech the newly elected mayor said: "I'm grateful for the opportunity to serve and I stand ready to get on with the job of drawing our region together"

    Jarvis beat Conservative candidate Ian Walker by 93,535 votes.

    A woman has died after being hit by a van in Eckington.

    Police said the pedestrian died at the scene following the crash on the A615 Sheffield Road at about 08:00.

    The 49-year-old van driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remains in custody.
