    Humberside Police are asking for help to locate 31-year-old Mahfuzur Tarafdar from Hull for a breach of his bail conditions.

    He was bailed from court to an address in Sheffield last week but now cannot be traced.

    It is believed he now may be in the Hull area against the terms of his bail.

    An experimental bus service, running between Allbrough and Hull, is going to be extended until September.

    Allbrough Parish Council introduced the bus after EYMS axed their 220 service, leaving villagers without their own transport stranded.

    Sharlah Cantwell, who chairs Allbrough Parish Council, has told BBC Radio Humberside 175 passengers have used the bus in its first four weeks of operation.

    Clothes belonging to a missing woman from Leeds have been found on a beach near Scarborough.

    West Yorkshire Police say Denise Birdsall left Garforth at about 09:30 on Monday, catching a train to Scarborough.

    The 52-year-old was then caught on CCTV buying a skirt from a charity shop, which she changed into.

    Her other clothes were then found on the beach at Cayton Bay, officers say they are working with North Yorkshire Police and the Coastguard.

  5. Rush hour road closures start for Sheffield cycle racepublished at 15:53 British Summer Time 18 July 2018

    Roads are being closed in Sheffield ahead of a cycle race coming through the city centre later today.

    The Sheffield Grand Prix, part of the British Cycling Circuit series, starts in a couple of hours time with Arundel Gate, Tudor Square, Pinstone Street and Norfolk Street all being closed.

    Closures have been in place since 12:00, with them expected to be lifted by 22:30.

    A judge has told a child rapist from Hull that he preyed on the most vulnerable girls in a Kenyan village.

    Keith Morris was sentenced to 18-and-a-half years after he was found guilty of raping two girls in Kenya.

    Graham Ellis from The National Crime Agency (NCA), who brought the case against Keith Morris, says the sentence reflected the abhorrent nature of his crimes.

    A clinical commissioning group which closed several of the East Riding's minor injuries units has been praised by NHS England.

    The East Riding Clinical Commissioning Group, external had previously been told to improve its performance.

    In April, it changed minor injury units in Beverley, Bridlington and Goole, to urgent care centres.

    The group also closed the unit at Hornsea Cottage Hospital, and downgraded the units at Driffield and Withernsea.

    NHS England says it had improved performance against a range of clinical indicators, as well as effectively managing change, and robustly delivering its efficiency plans.

    It's also been rated as outstanding for its work to improve diabetes support.

    A 32-year-old man has died following a crash in the Beighton area of Sheffield yesterday.

    Police say the driver of a red Audi A3 was travelling on the A57 towards Swallownest before crossing onto the wrong side of the road and hitting a van.

    The driver of the Audi was pronounced dead at the scene.

    It happened at about 17:00 on Tuesday 17 July near the bend from the Beighton Road roundabout.

    The driver of the white Ford Transit van, a 23-year-old man, is still in hospital with serious injuries.

    Staff will be investigated, according to North Yorkshire County Council.

    A Hull man found guilty of raping two girls in Kenya has been sentenced to 18-and-a-half years in prison.

    Keith Morris, 72, carried out the crimes while on holiday in a remote village between 2016 and 2017.

    The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said he befriended the young victims' families over the past 20 years, giving them money and gifts.

    Morris, a retired locksmith of New Bridge Road, also financially sponsored several of the families, providing household goods, clothing, medical treatment and paying for their children's education, the CPS said.

    Morris was convicted of four counts of rape, three counts of assault by penetration, four counts of sexual assault and two counts of perverting the course of justice in May.

    Hull City have signed goalkeeper George Long for an undisclosed fee from Sheffield United.

    The 24-year-old has signed a three-year deal, with an additional one-year option.

    Long has played under Hull City manager Nigel Adkins before during his time with the Blades.

    He had played 120 times for Sheffield United.

    A Leeds car park has been named among the "coolest in the world" after thousands of people voted for their favourite in - believe it or not - the 2018 World’s Coolest Car Parks’ competition.

    Victoria Gate’s multi-storey car park, with its twisted aluminium fin cladding, was awarded a respectable third place, with 11.4% of the votes.

    Quick Parking Morelli (pictured above) which is based in an underground cave in the centre of Naples, was a clear winner with 39.6% of the votes.

    Second place went to AZ Sint-Lucas in Belgium (below) with 19.6% of the votes.

    The competition organisers say: "Thousands of people from around the world voted from a shortlist compiled by architecture and design website DesignCurial."

    And the idea behind the cutest cladded car park was: "To celebrate buildings that can often be perceived as dull and dreary."

    Work to replace cladding on a Sheffield tower block, which was removed following the Grenfell fire disaster, is expected to start in September after the council approved the plans.

    The cladding on Hanover Tower in Broomhill was taken down last June after it failed safety tests.

    The work could cost about £4m.

    The city council says it's working with residents to reassure them that the materials used will be safe, but some say questions still need to be answered.

    A group of plays written and directed by schoolchildren have been performed by professional actors.

    Each of the 10 children, aged 5 to 7, at Filey Nursery and Infants Academy, wrote a 5-minute play.

    Professional actors at the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough then performed them, as part of a project to help raise the confidence and self-esteem of the children.

    The headteacher at Filey Infants, Denise Crosier, says: "In the few months these children have worked on this project literacy rates have soared."
