Drivers are being warned that road closures and diversions are on the horizon as gas works costing more than £500,000 get under way in York.
Most of the money is being spent on about three miles of new pipes around New Lane in Huntington.

Bradford Council, says the decision to stop revellers from bringing in unsealed food is to "avoid people smuggling in contraband."
The decision to stop people bringing chairs into the site was: "Based on feedback from previous festivals and to ensure the safety of festival goers in the unlikely event that the arena needs to be evacuated in an emergency."

A police officer in West Yorkshire has an agonising wait to find out if he's been infected with a blood disease after being bitten while on duty last night.
PC Morgan Taylor, who is stationed in Halifax, was bitten by a man who has Hepatitis C.
The officer now has to take antibiotics, have a tetanus shot and wait three months before he gets "the all clear".
In a tweet he said, external "Got bitten last night. Only a minor injury, but still painful."
Two women are recovering after being attacked by three masked men during a "terrifying" robbery as they worked in a shop in a part of West Yorkshire.
It happened last night at Co-op on Whitehall Road in Drighlington when the three men wearing balaclavas went into the shop and threatened the women.
The men demanded access to the safe but the women refused and tried to fight the men off.
One of the women was repeatedly hit in the face and suffered a fractured cheekbone, the other woman was hit on the head by the same suspect but was not injured.
The robbers then forced open the tills, took cash and got into a silver Nissan Juke, driven by a fourth man.

As part of a trial this summer there has a 'right turn ban' stopping traffic on Southgate from turning right at traffic lights into Newbegin.
The changes were introduced to try and reduce congestion in the town centre during the summer months.

A man and woman have appeared in court charged with supplying the drugs that caused the death of a student.
Joana Burns, 22, died after taking MDMA on a night out in Sheffield in 2017.
Katherine Lavin, 21, from Stockport, is said to have supplied the drug to Ms Burns while Benjamin Williams, 25, from Sheffield, is charged with supplying MDMA to Miss Lavin.
Both appeared at Sheffield Magistrates' Court earlier and were bailed to appear at the Crown Court on 18 September.
