    Police have released an e-fit image after a woman was sexually assaulted in Barnsley.

    A man pulled up beside the woman, who was walking with her child, on Rose Grove, Wombwell.

    The man, who was driving an old model turquoise Jeep, is believed to have asked for directions.

    He attacked her as she approached the car.

    The woman ran away with her child and isn't injured, but has been left distressed and upset, police said.

    The incident is thought to have happened at about 16:50 on Wednesday 19 September.

    Deignan, 29, from Otley, West Yorkshire, who is married to fellow professional cyclist Philip Deignan, posted pictures on Twitter.

    She wrote: "And then there were 3 ❤️ meet our daughter Orla Deignan".

    The former world champion was the first British athlete to win a medal, silver, at the London Olympics in 2012, racing under her maiden name Armitstead.

    A 13-year-old boy has been charged with dangerous driving following a police pursuit of a reportedly stolen vehicle.

    The teenager is due to appear before magistrates in Bradford today, also facing charges of driving while disqualified and burglary, according to West Yorkshire Police.

    The incident, which took place yesterday morning, saw officers follow a Volkswagen Golf at speeds of up to 100mph.

    The vehicle was eventually brought to a halt in Bingley.

    A man from North Yorkshire has pleaded guilty to killing a mum from Cawood near Selby.

    51-year-old Angela Rider's body was discovered at a property in Cawood in March.

    Adrian Rodi, of Chestnut Road, Cawood, North Yorkshire, admitted manslaughter with diminished responsibility at Leeds Crown Court on Monday.

    Rodi is due to be sentenced on 12 November.

    A man has been arrested following a serious sexual assault on a woman in Leeds.

    The 49-year-old was arrested after an attack at a house in the Hyde Park area of the city on 18 August.

    He was interviewed and released under investigation pending further enquiries.

    Roundhay Park in Leeds is to get a new children's play area after fundraisers smashed through their target.

    The Roundhay Playground appeal was set up just five months ago - and has raised in excess of £150,000.

    The new playground should be ready by Christmas.

    A spokesperson for the project said: "This means we can upgrade the original £100,000 draft design and fully make our ideas for a fantastic and accessible playground a reality."

    An exhibition, which is based on the castle ruins, allows people to pass a computer tablet over a model bringing it to life.

    Archaeologists are still digging on the real site to try and uncover more of the long-vanished castle's history.

    More than a quarter of all illegal killings of birds of prey happened in Yorkshire last year, according to the RSPB.

    The charity says North Yorkshire remains the worst place for bird crime, with 15 incidents in the county last year.

    The RSPB says the real figure could be much higher, with many cases going unreported.

    Three men have been arrested after a family were reportedly attacked and robbed in their Doncaster home.

    The incident happened at a house on Mill Lane, Adwick le Street, where three men are thought to have attacked the family - a man, a woman, and two boys.

    The family were reportedly assaulted, with the man suffering serious facial injuries, and threatened with weapons.

    Three vehicles were also stolen in the burglary at about 01:30 on Tuesday 11 September.

    Three men, two 29 and one 26, have been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary and kidnap.

    Two other men have been released under investigation.

    Another man has been released without charge.

    The proposals would see some existing buildings on Allen Street being demolished.

    The new block would have up to eight floors.

    There have been some objections to the idea - concerns include pressure on parking in the area and light being blocked out for existing buildings.

    Sheffield City Council will consider the plan today.

    A firefighter from North Yorkshire has been describing the moment he found out his son was one of those seriously injured at a crash he attended.

    Two teenagers were killed in the crash involving two cars on the A61 near Thirsk in March.

    David Brown found his son, Daniel, injured when he arrived at the scene.

    David said: "I just heard this voice saying 'Dad, I'm sorry. I'm sorry.'

    "He was lying at the side of the road."

    Daniel was airlifted to hospital with serious injuries and had to undergo major surgery.

    He recovered, but two of his friends died.

    David said: "It's just something that will never leave you.

    "I count myself fortunate, but it'll never leave you, it'll always be there."

    A public consultation has started and will run until 5 November.

    People will be asked if it should be maintained at the same level or if it needs updating.

    They'll also be asked if there is an alternative that should be considered.

    Around £230m of investment is needed to allow Supertram to operate beyond 2024.

    An animal rescue centre in Hull is asking people to purchase bricks.

    Some of the RSPCA's dog kennels have been in use for 80 years and are in desperate need of updating.

    The charity is asking for contributions to help them build a new facility on Clough Road, brick by brick.

    Benefactors will get their name on the wall of the new building to mark their donation.
