A runner has been banned from taking part in the Hull marathon, after it was found he had cheated by crossing the finish line without actually completing the race.
The unnamed man had entered the marathon four times, but an investigation by race authorities found he had not actually run the course.
Marathon organisers could only find evidence of his presence at the chip timing mats, which record a runner's progress around the track.
They say that, although he crossed the finish line, "the runner’s times do not reflect other evidence considered".
His results from the last four years have been disqualified and he will be banned from entering for the next five years.
In a statement the marathon said: "Organisers will not tolerate anyone trying to breach the rules of the event and discredit those who have trained for the challenges and run within the rules set out."
Two "cruel and callous" women who murdered a vulnerable drug addict in a "sustained and vicious assault" in Barnsley have been jailed for life.

Sheffield Crown Court heard the pair thought Ms Smith knew about a stolen necklace.
They beat her to death and then dumped in the street outside the flat.
The two women, both of Britannia Close, Barnsley, were jailed for a minimum of 26 years at Sheffield Crown Court.
Judge Jeremy Richardson QC said: "You are two brutish women who have demonstrated a ruthless capability to visit relentless, extreme violence on a defenceless woman despite her pleading for you to stop.
"You are both cruel and callous women."
Quote MessageThe high level of violence with which you killed Clare Smith may only be characterised as bordering on the sadistic."

A film made in Hull will be shown to millions when it's aired on BBC Two this weekend.
The film, A Northern Soul, sparked a row when it was given a 15 rating because of strong language.
But councils around the country defied the censors, making it a 12A so younger audiences would be able to see it.
The film follows Steve (pictured), who struggles to make ends meet as he tries to teach hip-hop to children in Hull schools with his "Beats Bus".
Director Sean McAllister said: "There are many Steves in each city across great Britain - and that was the point of making this film."
A Northern Soul is due to be shown on BBC Two at 22:00 on Sunday.

People in Scarborough can now have their say on a planned rise in the costs of getting a taxi, the rise could see fares go up by as much as 22%, with a one-mile journey costing more than £5, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.
A request by Scarborough and District Taxi Association, has been accepted by the council and is now being put to the public.
Under the proposed changes, the cost of a journey between 06:00 and 21:00 would go up by an average of 10.7%, while between 21:00 and 00:00 there would be an average rise of 22% on current fares.
This means a one-mile journey would cost £5.60.
The proposed changes, the first in the town for five years, apply to the so-called white-plate drivers who pick up fares from taxi ranks.
The public can make objections in writing until 29 November, if no objections are received the new charges would come into force on 14 December.

A celebrated painting by Bradford artist David Hockney has been sold at Christie's in New York for just over $90m (£70m) - an auction record for a work by a living artist.
There is good reason for all the fuss over Hockney's huge canvas Portrait of an Artist.
Painted in 1972, it unites the themes and ideas he was exploring in the late 60s and 70s with his famous "swimming pool" pictures and "double portraits".
The two individual series are widely considered to be his best work.
So the opportunity to buy a picture that combines both in a single wholly coherent and powerful image - by one of the world's most respected contemporary painters - is an opportunity that doesn't come along very often.
That means the market-driven rules of supply and demand come into play, pushing the price up to the giddy heights of $90m.
Thousands watched Hull's last surviving "headscarf revolutionary" turn on the city's Christmas lights last night.
Yvonne Blenkinsop pressed the button on the same day she was given the honorary freedom of the city.
She was one of a group of women from Hull who forced changes in the fishing industry with their trawler safety campaign in the 1960s.
She said she "couldn't believe" she'd been given the freedom of the city: "I'm tickled pink - and that's just putting it mildly. I'm really honoured."
