Heads up: Hospitals lead 3D printed skulls revolutionpublished at 09:42 Greenwich Mean Time 27 November 2018
A new 3D printing scanner is helping to save valuable time during surgery when treating people with serious injuries, according to hospital scientists in East Yorkshire.
It's used to help rebuild the faces of cancer patients and those who've suffered serious head injuries by creating accurate images of the skull.
It's hoped that 3D printing of body parts will take off in hospitals across the country as the technology becomes more accurate and cheaper.
