    A man who died in a collision near Helmsley has been named by police in North Yorkshire.

    Keith Fishburn, 62, of Yarm (pictured), died following the crash on the A170, between Helmsley and Sutton Bank, on Friday.

    A North Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "Mr Fishburn leaves behind a loving and devoted family who are being supported by specially-trained police officers."

    Police are urging anyone who witnessed the collision, or saw the vehicles in the moments before it happened, or has any dashcam footage that could help, to get in touch.

    Two people have been charged with attempted murder after a serious assault in Rotherham last week.

    Nathan Liversidge, 20, of no fixed abode, and Gemma Muscroft, 32, of Hartington Road, Rotherham, have also been charged with false imprisonment.

    The attack happened on Hartington Road, Rotherham on Friday.

    Both have been remanded in custody to appear before Sheffield Magistrates' Court tomorrow, according to South Yorkshire Police.

    Locals are displaying rainbow flags, bunting and posters after Stephanie Trotter and Vikki Parkey, received a note saying they should "move to a more appropriate area".

    The note also questioned their right to have a child.

    A pedestrian has died after a collision on a zebra crossing in Mirfield.

    A 4x4 Vovo was travelling on Water Royd Lane when it collided with a man at about 19:00 on 23 February.

    The 91-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to get in touch.

    A woman was rescued after falling over the harbour wall and into the sea in Bridlington at the weekend.

    She was saved by a member of the public who used a life ring to secure her until the arrival of the coastguard.

    The fire service was called to Royal Princes Parade at about 20:15 on Saturday and crews used a stretcher to extricate the woman.

    She was taken to hospital suffering hypothermia, spinal and pelvic injuries, according to Humberside Fire and Rescue Service.

    The emergency services also rescued a man and who was taken to hospital by ambulance, suffering from minor injuries.

    No surprise, then, that the Met Office has issued a yellow warning for fog for parts of the county, external.

    Here's what parts of Leeds city centre looked like late last night:

    Police say "extremely poor driving conditions" are affecting many parts of the county today.

    Drivers are being warned to adjust their speed accordingly and to turn on fog lights.

    A man's in hospital after suffering a serious assault in Whitby, police say.

    The victim, in his mid-40s, was attacked at a takeaway restaurant on Windsor Terrace at about 00:05 on Sunday morning.

    David Hopkin has resigned as manager of League One strugglers Bradford City after less than six months in charge.

    The 48-year-old Scot replaced Michael Collins in September, but only won seven of his 35 matches.

    Hopkin's final game saw the Bantams lose 3-2 at Walsall on Saturday to leave them 23rd in the table.

    "I have given my all over the past six months. I took on a tough job and have left no stone unturned in my efforts to help us climb the table," Hopkin said.

    Disruption to train services into and out of Leeds is expected to last until noon.

    Damage to the overhead electric wires between Leeds and Shipley is causing delays to journeys through Shipley.

    Rail company Northern says services may be cancelled, delayed or revised.

    Most trains are delayed, with some being delayed by more than 30 minutes, according to National Rail Enquiries.

    They've advised commuters that buses are running between Shipley, Apperley Bridge, Kirkstall Forge and Leeds, external.

    This was the scene at Shipley station a short time ago, with passengers waiting for buses to take them to their destinations.

    A service has been held at a memorial in Sheffield to mark the 75th anniversary of a plane crash in which 10 US airmen died.

    On Friday, thousands of people cheered a fly-past honouring the men who died when their US bomber came down in Endcliffe Park on 22 February 1944.

    A campaign for a fly-past started after a chance meeting between BBC Breakfast presenter Dan Walker and Tony Foulds (below right), who tends the crash memorial.

    Dozens of people attended the annual service, which is on the closest Sunday to the anniversary.
