    Prince Harry will meet the families of people who died in the Tunisian beach attack later, as he officially opens a memorial.

    A couple from Leeds were among the 30 British people to lose their lives in the attack by a gunman at Port El Kantaoui on 26 June 2015.

    They were shot near to their hotel swimming pool.

    Christopher and Sharon Bell (pictured) died in Sousse four years ago.

    Mr Bell worked for Northern Rail at Leeds railway station and was described as "a much loved and highly valued colleague."

    Mrs Bell was a health and care worker.

    The couple from Killingbeck were described as "hard-working" by neighbours.

    Last month seven people were jailed for life for carrying out that attack.

    The memorial to the British victims has been built in Birmingham's Cannon Hill.

    York's historic Bar Walls, which date from the 12th to the 14th century and surround the city centre, are being lit up in rainbow colours for the next seven days.

    It's to mark LGBT (Lesbian, Gay Bisexual and Transgender) Adoption and Fostering Week, which provides advice and support to members of that community who want to raise a child.

    Councillor Keith Myers said: “We need adoptive parents and foster carers who can care and support some of York’s most vulnerable children.

    "We’re interested in whether they can offer a stable loving home, rather than their sexuality."

    Suzie Grove, Head of Agency, One Adoption North and Humber, said: “We welcome applications from people of any sexuality, race or religion.

    "This is why we are calling out to members of the LGBT community and showing our support to LGBT Adoption and Fostering Week.”

  3. Suspected armed robber hurt in North Yorkshire crashpublished at 09:30 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2019

    A man suspected of being involved in armed robberies in the south of England was arrested after a car crash in North Yorkshire.

    The man, who is in his 40s, was in a car which collided with a police vehicle on the A64 at Malton on Saturday.

    Police said officers had tracked the vehicle after it was seen on the A64 in Scarborough earlier that day.

    The two cars were travelling in the same direction, police said.

    The man was treated for abdominal injuries before being released for questioning.

    A blaze that broke out at a scrap metal recycling plant in South Yorkshire was due to a battery catching fire, the fire service has said.

    It was the third time a fire has taken place at Universal Recycling in Wharfe Road, Kilnhurst, in two years, with one in May 2017 and another in June.

    A South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue investigation found the cause of Sunday's fire was accidental.

    Residents were being asked to stay indoors and keep all windows and doors closed.

  5. Unearthing the secrets hidden beneath Hull's Princes Dockpublished at 08:54 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2019

    An archaeological dig starts today to search for the remains of Hull's old city walls, thought to date back to the 14th century.

    A three metre by eight metre trench is being dug on Princes Dock Street (pictured) where the walls are thought to be buried.

    Highways England project manager Tom Peckitt said: "While it's naturally hard to predict the outcome until the digging begins, everyone hopes something of historical significance to the city will be discovered."

    The dig is part of a project to build a new bridge over the A63 to take pedestrians and cyclists between Princes Quay and the marina.

  6. Funeral of Sheffield's legendary World Cup keeperpublished at 08:36 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2019

    The funeral of Gordon Banks, the goalkeeper who helped the 1966 England team to World Cup glory, will take place today.

    Mr Banks was born in Sheffield and started his footballing career at Chesterfield.

    Banks was named Fifa goalkeeper of the year six times and earned 73 caps for England.

    He played in every game of the 1966 World Cup campaign, culminating in the 4-2 victory over West Germany in the final at Wembley.

    Fans of keeper, who died last month aged 81, have been given the chance to attend his funeral, at Stoke Minster this afternoon.

    Police are using drones to check for crowd trouble at a key football match in South Yorkshire tonight.

    The airborne technology is being used at the derby between Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

    Footage from the drones will be beamed to police chiefs on the ground.

    The South Yorkshire force says it'll allow them to to recognise problems early and get officers to the right place quickly.

    It's the first time the force have used drones in this way.

    Victims of knife crime have been remembered at a vigil in front of the knife angel sculpture in Hull.

    The 27ft (8m) high sculpture is made from 100,000 blades handed into police across the country and is a tribute to victims of knife crime.

    The sculpture is due to leave Queen's Gardens, where it has been for a month, next week.

    Hundreds of people attended the vigil, led by the Cannon of Hull Minster, yesterday.

    A barber restoring wooden chairs to use in his new salon uncovered one thought to have been used by former Leeds United and England manager Don Revie.

    Don Revie was the club's legendary manager whose reign at Elland Road spanned between 1961 and 1974, bringing Leeds United a level of unprecedented success.

    He took the club into the top tier of English football and made them into one of the hardest teams to beat in Europe.

    Sean Birch, 53, who runs Sean's Barber's in Yeadon, bought six of the chairs from a man in Shipley, West Yorkshire, to go in his waiting room.

    Once he stripped them back he found names including Mr Revie's and the 1992 title-winning chairman Leslie Silver.

    Mr Birch said: "I found 'Mr Revie - Manager' on the chair - it came as a shock to me; my wife says she's never seen me happier.

    "I was smiling more than I did on my wedding day, apparently."

    A woman has been seriously injured in a crash on the A1 in North Yorkshire.

    It happened on the northbound carriageway between Knaresborough and Boroughbridge on Saturday night and involved a car and a lorry.

    The 24-year-old woman was taken to James Cook Hospital in Middlesbrough where she's described as being in a stable condition.

    The driver of the lorry wasn't injured.

    Police are appealing for anyone who saw the incident to contact them.

  15. Yorkshire to get millions of post-Brexit cashpublished at 06:30 Greenwich Mean Time 4 March 2019

    Yorkshire and the Humber region is in line to receive £197m of £1.6bn being made available by the government to help England's poorest towns once the UK has left the European Union.

    More than half of the £1.6bn will go to the north of England and the Midlands to bring jobs and stimulate growth.

    Some money will be allocated by need, the rest will have to be bid for.

    The government says it's to boost local economies and create jobs.

    Critics have called it a "bribe" to MPs to support Theresa May's Brexit plan.
