RSPCA officers were called, by someone picking litter, to a patch of wasteland next to some woods off Marfleet Lane, behind HMP Hull, last Tuesday.

Insp Lucy Green said: “This poor bearded was so thin you could clearly see his spine and hips. He was like a walking skeleton and was very lethargic.

“He was extremely cold and very unwell. Bearded dragons are reptiles so they are reliant on heat sources to keep them warm.

  19. Gas repairs to affect busy route for three weekspublished at 16:17 British Summer Time 1 April 2019

    Local Democracy Reporting Service
    Alex Metcalfe

A busy route will see three weeks of roadworks for essential repairs to a gas main.

Traffic lights will go up this Saturday in Yarm on the A67 junction with The Spital and Worsall Road.

Signals will be up at the southern end of Yarm High Street and the works will be manned from 07:00 to 19:00 every day until 27 April.

Northern Gas Networks (NGN) will be replacing an old cast iron gas main on the stretch with a plastic model which engineers hope will last for decades.

Congestion at the three-way junction sparked anger and frustration last autumn when Northern Powergrid was repairing cables. Motorists jumping red lights were blamed for making traffic worse - as this meant the lights had to be repeatedly reset.

But a spokesman from NGN explained the firm had an eye on existing traffic on the queue-prone route and had timed the work to coincide with the Easter holidays.
