    As the race heads through the North Yorkshire countryside - here's a reminder of the rolling road closures that will be in place through the day.

    As the women's race is a bit behind schedule the county council is warning the closures will also last a little longer than expected.

    Remember those parking restrictions as well - otherwise it might be the 'tow de Yorkshire':

    The brave four had luckily checked the weather forecast and wrapped up warm.

    The Yorkshire Post is reporting, external that Burberry has abandoned plans for a trenchcoat factory in Leeds and will sell the land it was considering developing.

    “We remain committed to Yorkshire and the UK, and as part of this we will continue to invest in our existing manufacturing operations in Castleford and Keighley, home to our iconic Burberry Heritage trench coat," the firms is quoted as saying.

    The authority may still be in no overall control, but the Liberal Democrats have something to smile about.

    But their gains to take them to 21 seats of the 47 available has come at the expense of their Conservative coalition partners.

    The Tories have are 12 down on their previous benchmark four years ago, now holding just two seats.

    Labour gained two seats against their 2015 number, now holding 17.

    Radio York's Gemma Dillon said she expected negotiations between parties in the city to go on over the weekend in order to try and find a way forward.

    A music teacher from Leeds has been jailed for five years for plotting to sexually abuse Filipino girls as young as four.

    James Alexander, 42, of Beeston Road, Beeston, taught in Leeds before moving to Thailand in 2017.

    Leeds Crown Court heard how Alexander sent money to criminals in a bid to arrange travel to the Philippines to abuse young girls.

    He told another Filipino mother that he wanted to have sex with her daughters, aged seven and 11n, as well as directing them to pose for photographs.

    Alexander’s phone contained child abuse images.

    He was arrested on 30 June 2018 as he flew into the UK.

    He admitted one count of arranging and facilitating a child sex offence; three counts of attempting to cause a girl to engage in sexual activity, and one count of making an indecent image of a child.

    Rick Zabel has clinched victory on the second day of the men's Tour de Yorkshire.

    The Team Katusha Alpecin cyclist crossed the line in Bedale first after a 82-mile route took the riders through Barnsley, Pontefract, Garforth and Harrogate.

    The men's and women's races continue tomorrow with competitors facing a 83-mile route from Bridlington to Scarborough.

    Independent candidates were the biggest winner in the borough, taking 14 of the 46 seats being contested, up from three at the previous election.

    The Conservatives secured 16 seats and Labour 13, while the Green Party took two and UKIP one.

    Molly was last seen today at about 07:25 on Moor Lane.

    Police believe she got on a train from Ilkley to Leeds.

    She is described as being 5ft tall, of medium build, and was last seen wearing her school uniform, green puffer jacket and carrying a pink school bag.

    Police and her family are very concerned for her welfare, and are keen to hear from anyone with information on her whereabouts.

    An experienced hillwalker from West Yorkshire has gone missing while on a trip in the Highlands.

    Martin Rhodes, 46, was last seen in the Kinlochewe area at about 08:30 on Wednesday.

    Police, Torridon and Dundonnell mountain rescue teams, the Search and Rescue Dogs Association and a helicopter have been making searches.

    Concerns for Mr Rhodes' wellbeing have been heightened by a change to colder weather in recent days.
