    Network Rail and British Transport Police have thanked those affected for their patience, with many passengers having to continue their journeys by using different means of transport.

    Passengers at Leeds railway station wanting to travel to Doncaster and York are being diverted to replacement bus services:

    Lines into Leeds station are currently blocked and services severely disrupted due to a "trespasser on the railway".

    One member of staff said the disruption could last for "another five hours".

    Yorkshire Ambulance's Hazardous Area Response Team is also at the scene along with an incident response unit.

    Passengers at Leeds railway station are being told by staff that it could be closed into the afternoon.

    It follows what's being called a "trespass incident", which has been ongoing since about 07:30.

    Earlier, passengers at the station were asked to leave the site unless their journeys were "absolutely necessary".

    Train operator Northern originally said disruption was expected to last until about midday, but station staff have been telling passengers that this could now be later.

    At Sheffield railway station, passengers are being told to make alternative travel arrangements following the "trespass incident" which has brought Leeds station to a standstill.

    Many services are either delayed or cancelled, and not just those that are to and from Leeds.

    Services to Nottingham, Plymouth and Newcastle are all showing as being disrupted on the boards in the concourse.

    The disruption is expected to last until midday, according to the PA announcements at Sheffield, with passengers asked to wait for further announcements.

    But many commuters still trying to find a way to get to work.

    A large fire at a scrapyard in South Yorkshire is now under control, according to the fire service.

    People living near Boulder Bridge Lane scrapyard were warned to shut their windows as smoke headed towards Barnsley.

    At the height of the blaze, Jonathan Dyson, from the fire service, said: “We’ve got six appliances at this incident, but people should be assured half of these are for water-carrying and the fire is under control."

    A crane and two trailers were involved in the fire and, according to the fire service.

    It added: "If you heard explosions, this is due to some cylinders which were involved too."

    A man found dead at a house in Hull earlier this week has been named by police.

    Adrian Colin Carter, 57, was found at a property in Beverley Road on Tuesday afternoon, said Humberside Police.

    A post-mortem examination carried out to ascertain the cause of Mr Carter's death has proved inconclusive, said the force.

    Anyone who has seen Mr Carter since 17 May has been asked to contact police.

    Detectives say the investigation into his death is ongoing.

    Health chiefs say the Jean Bishop Integrated Care Centre has reduced pressure on hospital admissions in the area by a third in the year since it opened.

    The centre provides a new type of care for elderly and frail people, with medicines, mobility and the needs of carers are all assessed in one place by a team of professionals.
