    Police officers in South Yorkshire have criticised an "extremely silly" cyclist caught riding on the M1 yesterday.

    Several members of the public called police to report the person after spotting them on the southbound carriageway between junctions 36 and 34 at about 19:00.

    South Yorkshire Police said the cyclist was issued with a fine, saying it was an "extremely silly thing to do".

    Mourners have dressed in rainbow colours at the funeral of lottery winner and LGBT campaigner Melissa Ede.

    The 58-year-old, who won £4m on a lottery scratch card in 2017, died from a heart attack on the night of 11 May.

    Her coffin was carried in a horse-drawn carriage, adorned in the rainbow pride flag colours, to Chanterlands Avenue crematorium in Hull at about 12:30 BST.

    Arrangements for the funeral, external included a colourful dress code to celebrate "her extraordinary life".

    A serious case review is to be held into the deaths of two boys in Sheffield, the city council has confirmed.

    Blake Barrass, 14, and Tristan Barrass, 13, were found dead on Friday.

    Their mother, Sarah Barrass, 34, and Brandon Machin, 38, have been charged with their murder.

    Ms Barrass has also been charged with three counts of attempted murder against two other children.

    Both were remanded in custody on Tuesday.

    They are due back at Sheffield Crown Court on 21 June and a provisional trial date has been set for November.

    Today's incident at Lightwater Valley comes 18 years after a 20-year-old woman died in an accident on a rollercoaster at the theme park.

    Gemma Savage, from Wath upon Dearne, did when when two cars collided on the Treetop Twister ride in June 2001.

    Miss Savage was on a day out with friends from Durham University, where she was studying biomedical sciences, when the accident happened.

    A rollercoaster at Ligthwater Valley theme park has been closed after reports a six-year-old boy fell from the ride.

    Emergency services were called to the theme park near Ripon at about 11.30 following the incident.

    Eyewitnesses say the boy fell from the Twister roller coaster.

    Lightwater Valley said the ride had been closed but that the park remains open.

    The park's management team said in a statement: "We can confirm that following an incident on one of our rides this morning, a child is receiving treatment at a local hospital,"

    "Emergency services have confirmed the child was conscious when they arrived at the scene and his condition is not believed to be life threatening.

    "The ride remains closed at the current time but the rest of the park is still open.

    "We will issue an update as soon as we have any more information."

    An eyewitness has been speaking about the moment she became aware of an incident involving a six-year-boy at a theme park in North Yorkshire.

    Police say the boy has been airlifted to hospital in Leeds after the incident at Lightwater Valley, near Ripon.

    He was taken to Leeds General Infirmary by air ambulance, but police say he was conscious when officers arrived at the scene and his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

    Lara-Susan James was one of a party visiting the park.

    She says: “They started shouting to the operator to stop the ride. It was at that moment I realised something was wrong.

    "I saw the operator apply the emergency stop and my husband pointed to the fallen kid on the ground saying they had fallen out.”

    The Health and Safety Executive has been notified.

    Lightwater Valley has been approached by the BBC for comment.

    Rallies are planned in 28 towns and cities from Leeds and Liverpool to Reading and Rhyl.

    She'll be at today's march in Leeds and says: "We have to do something, something needs to change.

    "It's not about autistic children getting grades, it's about them learning how to navigate a world that isn't designed for them."

    Send National Crisis campaigners will later deliver a 13,000-signature petition to Downing Street at 12:00 and will then hold a rally in Parliament Square.

    They say special needs funding is failing to keep pace with demand.

    A 26-year-old man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed this morning in the Shiregreen area of Sheffield.

    The attack took place in Renathorpe Road at about 07.30.

    South Yorkshire Police said the victim has been taken to hospital but his injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

    The force said two women have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent in connection with the incident.

    National Rail Enquiries, however, are warning that major disruption to services in and out of Leeds is expected to last until at least 16:00 with possible cancellations, diversion and delays of up to three hours, external.

    There continues to be disruption across the rail network this morning following a trespass incident in Leeds.

    Many trains from Sheffield to Leeds via Barnsley are delayed or cancelled after Leeds' station was closed from about 07:30.

    A service to Lincoln has also been cancelled as part of the disruption.

    Passengers are being warned that major disruption to rail services in and out of Leeds is expected to continue until at least 14:00.

    National Rail Enqurieis say all lines have now reopened following an earlier trespass incident but are warning of delays of up to 140 minutes, cancellations and diversions.

    A spokesperson said: "Staff are working hard to ensure all the trapped trains are able to exit the platforms before further services enter the station.

    "Customers are advised to delay travelling until later today if possible. Please ensure you check before travelling."
