    Blood bags

The inquiry, currently sitting in Leeds, is examining what's been called "the worst treatment scandal in the history of the NHS".

Some 4,800 people with haemophilia were infected with hepatitis C or HIV in the 1970s and 1980s. More than 2,000 are thought to have died.

Richard Warwick from Malton in North Yorkshire was given infected blood products to treat his clotting disorder by an NHS clinic at Treloar's college in Hampshire.

The college was one of England’s leading centres for caring for disabled youngsters.

As a result he became infected with viruses including HIV and hepatitis C.

He was one of 89 pupils who were infected. Only 16 are still alive.
