A couple from Lincolnshire who urged thieves to return their beloved blind hedgehog after their van containing the animal was stolen in Leeds say they're not holding out much hope of getting him back.
Stephen the hedgehog was inside the vehicle when it was removed from Albion Place in Leeds on Saturday morning.
Owner Frank Tett, who runs Andrew's Hedgehog Hospital in Scunthorpe, said: "We're all devastated here.
"He'll probably last four or five days without food or water. After that he'll just die. It'll be a miracle if he turns up."
Stephen was in a light grey coloured cat carrier which was inside the stolen van.
Mr Tett and his wife Veronica appealed for motorists to be vigilant on roadsides as they think the box might have been thrown out of the vehicle.
Police are investigating the theft.

A cyclist has reached more than 174mph after being released from the back of Porsche on a runway at a North Yorkshire airfield.
Neil Campbell, 45, broke the previous record of 167mph at Elvington Airfield, near York, using a specially built £15,000 bike.
He was first towed by a Porsche Cayenne, then released to go through the timing gate under his own power.
The previous record was set by a Dutch rider in 1995.
Mr Campbell, of Little Horkesley in Essex, said he was "thrilled and relieved" to achieve the fastest bicycle speed for a male in a slipstream.
Yorkshire's transport system is set to get less than a third of the money the government plans to spend on London's, new research shows.
The figures show that out of the 12 regions making up the UK, Yorkshire is one of the worst funded overall.
The research by IPPR North claims Yorkshire will receive £321 a year on transport for each person. In London the figure is more than treble that, standing at £1,023.
The think tank says the imbalance is holding back the North's economy and devolving power away from Whitehall is the best way forward.
But the Department for Transport says the figures are misleading.

Great crested newts are causing delays to York’s £38m outer ring road upgrade, it's emerged.
The creatures have been found near the site of the Monks Cross roundabout, on the A1237, where work is due to take place on upgrading the road.
The newts are a protected species and a licence is needed from Natural England for any work which disturbs or damages their habitats.
A City of York Council report says the local authority needs to purchase nearby land to create a new home for the newts.
But negotiations with landowners are “time-consuming” and a compulsory purchase order, which would enable the council to buy land without the consent of the owner, may be needed.
Tony Clarke, head of transport at the council, said: “We survey for protected species before carrying out major schemes and we found great crested newts at the Monks Cross A1237 roundabout site.
“We need to provide a hibernaculum, where the animals can shelter in winter, to secure the long-term protection of the area’s newt population.
"We’re looking at where this can go as part of the agreements we’re negotiating with several landowners around the site and this has caused the delay to the roundabout.”
Plans for the roundabout include widening lanes to improve congestion as part of the A1237 upgrade.

The 296-acre former greenbelt site at Chidswell in Dewsbury is a key part of Kirklees Council's local plan, external.
But Chidswell Action Group has claimed the church is putting "profit before principals" and its members have urged the Archbishop of York to step in.
If approved, the development would include 1,534 houses, care homes and a primary school.
Mark Eastwood, from the group, said: "It's an area of beauty made up of fields full of barley and ancient woodland. It's a place for kids to play, for families to enjoy and it's been sacrificed for profit.
"We want the Archbishop of York to intervene and support our fight."
The Church Commissioners said the Archbishop of York had "no say in decisions or processes concerning any particular property development or transaction".
The council said the plan had been considered by a government inspector who concluded the site should come forward for development.
It added any planning application would be subject to public consultation.
