    Shaw, 29, is wanted for breaching his court order, and for domestic assault and criminal damage.

    South Yorkshire Police is urging people not to approach the man, who has been on-the-run since 13 August.

    A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after the body of a woman was found at an address in Hull this morning.

    The woman's body was found at a property in Constable Street at about 07:30.

    Humberside Police said the man was arrested at an address in Hessle a short time later on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

    The Humberside force says it's "working tirelessly to deal with the problem," but it wants other agencies to get involved.

    Ch Supt Darren Downs said: "The problem in Hull city centre is serious and we need to do something about it.

    "We can always do more and we will do more, but actually we need to get other people involved to make this problem go away permanently in the long term."

    Plans for a crackdown on anti-social behaviour, including rowdy hen and stag parties, in York have been approved.

    City of York Council leader Keith Aspden backed plans to work for Purple Flag status – a scheme that “recognises excellence in the management of city centres at night” – at a meeting held yesterday.

    He also approved plans to appoint a new member of staff to coordinate efforts.

    He said the plans meant organisations such as the police, tourist bosses and business groups, can work together to make York a more friendly place.

    Speaking after last night's meeting he said: “There’s no doubt one of the issues in our city centre is the conflicting needs and demands from different groups, which includes hen and stag dos.

    “I think those competing needs and groups do cause tension and unless we start with something like Purple Flag accreditation, it’s very hard to make those improvements.”

    Fans of York City Football Club have been warned over the setting off of flares at football matches.

    North Yorkshire Police say they've issued the warning after seeing an increase in flares being set off at the club's home and away games over recent weeks.

    The Sporting Events Act 1985, prohibits anyone from taking a flare or firework into a sports ground during a sporting event.

    A North Yorkshire Police Football Liaison Officer said: “If anyone's found in possession of or setting off a flare in a football ground they will be arrested and could face a banning order of up to five years.”

    Joint administrators KPMG said "regrettably" the majority of the polythene film manufacturer's 206-strong workforce had been made redundant.

    KPMG said it was seeking buyers for the remaining business and its assets.

    The firm's Walton Summit business park in Bamber Bridge had to be completely rebuilt after the serious blaze three years ago.

    Ceara Thacker, of Bradford, was found dead in her halls of residence at the University of Liverpool in May 2018.

    "Exceptional circumstances" including strike action were blamed for the wait for her to see an adviser, a university employee told the hearing.

    Ms Thacker's family was unaware she had taken an overdose three months before her death, the inquest has also heard.

    The inquest continues.

    A security guard who was caught on camera in an anti-Muslim rant has been found guilty of six counts of possessing terrorist material.

    Pawel Golaszewski, 34, was convicted after documents were found on his computer giving instructions about bomb-making.

    His car was stopped by armed police on February in Leeds and his computers seized.

    Officers later uncovered a stash of terrorist material, including detailed instructions on how to make weapons and various killing techniques.

    Golaszewski, of Wensleydale Mews, in Armley, Leeds, will be sentenced at the Old Bailey on Friday.

    More than 80 new homes proposed for the North Yorkshire village of Darley have been rejected.

    The refusal came as councillors pledged to protect the Nidderdale Area Of Natural Beauty (AONB) from “erosion” at the hands of developers.

    Harrogate Borough Council's planning committee voted unanimously to dump two proposals for developments near the village – the first being a proposal for 29 homes on Sheepcote Lane (pictured below), and the second a 60-home plan for Walker Lane.

    Clerk of Darley and Menwith Parish Councils, Martin Pearson, spoke on both the items, saying that there were “no exceptional situations” which would warrant developing AONB land.

    A representative for the applicant however said that the village had all the necessities to support expansion – including a pub, a shop and a school.
