The planned closure of the A&E department at Northallerton's Friarage Hospital is due to be discussed later at a public meeting.
The A&E, which serves about 120,000 people, is being replaced with an urgent treatment centre which might only open for 16 hours a day rather than 24.
People in North Yorkshire who are worried about those changes will get the chance to have their say from 14:00 this afternoon at the Catterick Memorial Institute.
Ahead of the meeting, Friarage Hospital medical director Adrian Clements said: "I understand why people might think we should be open 24 hours a day, but we've been running the new model for the last six months.
"On average, 50 people attend per day before midnight. Between midnight and 08:00 on average only three are attending."
