Mr McCabe (above left) was told to sell his shares in the Premier League side after losing a court battle with co-owner Abdullah Bin Mosaad Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud (above right).

In a bid to overturn the decision, Mr McCabe launched an appeal. However, earlier today the club said that appeal had been turned down.

In a statement, external, the club said the Court of Appeal considered there would be "no good grounds for allowing an appeal".

The club said: "The Board is delighted any lingering uncertainty about the club's future ownership is at an end and that everyone at Sheffield United can now fully focus on what has, to date, been a fantastic first season back in the Premier League."

It added that an "agreement in principle" had been reached between the Prince and Mr McCabe's Scarborough Group over the transfer of the freehold of the club's Bramall Lane stadium and a number of other properties.

It said it hoped the transfer would be completed "within a matter of months".

The BBC has analysed figures from Ofsted, which has data from 146 of the 153 local authorities which provide fostering services in England.

In Yorkshire and the Humber, there are 4,545 children in foster care. Of these children, 18% are BAME.

But of the foster parents in the region, just 7% are BAME.

Fostering charity Coram BAAF says more needs to be done to ensure foster carers are representative of the children they look after.

Children's Minister Michelle Donelan says she's extremely concerned about the situation and every child should have a stable family background and opportunities regardless of their ethnicity and religion.

Light heavyweight Scott Westgarth, who is originally from Prudhoe, fell ill after his "long, 10-round, hard fight" with Dec Spelman in Doncaster.

His trainer Glyn Rhodes was in tears as he told the inquest: "He'd just won the biggest fight of his career.

"He didn't want to be going out on a stretcher. He wanted to bask in the glory. He wanted to walk out.

"To be aware of that, he must have been sound of mind. He was all right."

The inquest in Doncaster is expected to last for five days.
