Small business owners say they are "anxious, worried and scared" as they wait to see what impact Storm Dennis will have.
Severe weather warnings are in place for much of the country and forecasters say a month's worth of rain could fall in some places.
In Mytholmroyd, where they are still reeling from the floods brought by Storm Ciara last weekend, business owners are preparing themselves for yet more bad weather.
Lisa Thwaites, who runs the Blue Teapot Cafe said: "I'm terrified. We've cleared the cafe out now but the thought that I might have to come in on Monday morning and do all this again is terrifying."
At a nearby beauty salon Rebecca Haigh said: "We're anxious, worried, scared. You don't sleep, it's just awful. It's like somebody has kicked you in the guts every time it happens.
"I've done three floods and I do not know if I want to do a fourth."
