They have also said they "aren’t seeing a major impact" on the county’s coronavirus levels since the next set of restrictions eased on April 12.

The government’s roadmap out of lockdown allowed pubs and restaurants to operate outside, non-essential retail, hairdressers, salons, gyms, zoos and theme parks to open as well as enabling people to meet outside in groups of six.

Clair Raybould, director of operations at Lincolnshire’s Clinical Commissioning Group, said: "We still need to maintain strong infection prevention control as individuals, but also across all of our services and we have also been asked to plan for a potential third wave.

"Although not of the magnitude of previous waves, that is still part of our planning and that sits alongside our recovery plans as well."

The teenagers gathered on Friday and Saturday night on The Meadows, according to Lincolnshire Police.

The youths were drinking alcohol and the vast majority were aged between 15 and 17-years-old, they added.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Extra police patrols will be taking place to help tackle this anti-social behaviour including over the bank holiday weekend."

Insp Gary Stewart said: "“These incidents are completely unacceptable. We shouldn’t have to play the role of parents by making sure that teenagers are behaving themselves, not getting drunk in the street or breaching the rules over meeting up in groups.

“We cannot be knocking on doors to bring your children home intoxicated and having to do this and disperse large groups who are behaving in an anti-social manner takes us away from those that really need our help.”

The Lincolnshire force is asking parents in the area to monitor where their children are going and to make sure they're "not consuming alcohol."
