Fire crews continue to tackle mile-long Marsden Moor firepublished at 08:03 British Summer Time 27 April 2021
A total of 13 fire crews and specialist wildfire units remain at the scene of a mile-long blaze on Marsden Moor near Huddersfield, according to West Yorkshire Fire Service.
The fire, near Black Moss Reservoir and Swellands Reservoir, started at about 19:00 on Sunday, landowner National Trust said.
In an update on social media this morning, external, West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service says: "We currently have 13 appliances, and specialist wildfire units on scene.
"A helicopter will also support our work today."
The fire "is believed to be accidental and no arrests have been made", West Yorkshire Police says.
A Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) is in place at the site which bans bonfires, fireworks and barbecues.
Police say they are liaising with Kirklees Council to investigate a breach of the order.
