The actual-size model of the famous aircraft is at Eden Camp Museum, near Malton.
The birds are thought to be a returning pair who first nested in the unusual spot last spring.
Blue Tits are frequent visitors to garden feeding stations, but according to the British Trust for Ornithology, external, are primarily birds of lowland deciduous woodland.
They prefer entrances to their nests with a small entrance to deter predators.
Perhaps that's why they've decided the Spitfire gun barrel fits the bill.
A man was left "shaken" after being assaulted in his home and threatened with a knife by a man posing as a police officer.
The attacker entered a property in Pennygate, Spalding, on 30 May attacked the occupant and took a sum of cash and some power tools, according to Lincolnshire Police.
The victim, in his 50s, was also threatened with a bladed weapon during the ordeal and sustained minor injuries.
The force said two 45-year-old men and a woman, aged 39, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
All three have been released on bail while an investigation into the incident takes place.
Det Insp Paul Coleman, said: "We have been able to arrest three individuals in relation to this crime.
"We have also been able to recover a number of items of property which we suspect were stolen in the burglary."
Anyone with information about the incident is being asked to contact police.
Huddersfield railway station has been covered in knitted squares thanks to a truly global effort.
The installation was made by volunteers from across the world to help celebrate the Big Rainbow Knit which takes place this month.
The volunteers worked via an online community group and it is estimated to have taken 45,000 hours of knitting to complete.

Bradford City have appointed former Morecambe boss Derek Adams as their new manager on a three-year contract.
The 45-year-old led the Shrimps to promotion to League One, but left the Lancashire side on Thursday.
The Scot replaces Conor Sellars and Mark Trueman, who were relieved of their first-team duties in May.
"This a fantastic football club to come to and we have a big opportunity to try and earn promotion," Adams told the club website., external
"We want to be a team that plays on the front foot and excites people when they come here. Hopefully, next season, we can get the supporters back to Valley Parade and have the place bouncing.
"Throughout my managerial career, it has always important to win, gain promotions and find yourselves in a higher position than you were the previous season.
"We all know Bradford City finished in the bottom half of the table last year. Now, we will aim to be in the promotion picture. That is what I am here to do."

Rachel Spencer-Henshall, Kirklees' director for public health said: “Our Covid-19 infection rate is high and it’s continuing to rise.
"Thankfully we’re not currently seeing this impact our numbers of deaths and hospital admission caused by Covid-19 but if we continue to see our infections increase, this may very quickly change.
“We have an opportunity right now to prevent our situation from worsening and that’s why we’ve put our surge testing and increased vaccine plan in place.
"I’m urging everyone to play their part so we can reduce our infection rate and get Kirklees safely through the roadmap out of lockdown."
