Constable tried to take penalty points for speeding driverpublished at 14:19 Greenwich Mean Time 1 December 2021
A police officer who accepted speeding penalty points on behalf of another driver would have been "dismissed" if she hadn't resigned, a misconduct hearing has found.
Maisy Whittington was a special constable with the Lincolnshire force in Louth.
A police misconduct hearing on Tuesday found she claimed to be the driver of a vehicle involved in a speeding offence when she was not "to protect another driver from receiving points."
The session found former Special Constable Whittington had "breached the standards of professional behaviour in respect of allegations in relation to honesty, integrity and discreditable conduct."
After the hearing, Chief Constable Chris Haward said: "Honesty and integrity are the grounding for every constable."
