Fundraising appeal for staff at fire-gutted restaurantpublished at 13:33 Greenwich Mean Time 2 December 2021
A fundraising appeal has been set up for workers at a 14th Century North Yorkshire pub restaurant which was destroyed in a suspected arson attack.
The fire Andrew Pern's Star Inn at Harome ripped through the building's 4ft (1.2m) deep straw roof and destroyed much of its supporting frame on 24 November.
Sandy Greetham who has set up a donations page, external said: "Hopefully by doing this it will show Andrew Pern and the team how much love and support is out there.
"This will sadly affect the lives of many families who work there.
"This small amount will hopefully give them some security for lack of wages to help them get through Christmas."
