    A police chase came to a violent end when a force car was rammed into a wall at 80 mph.

    Officers from Leicestershire Police pursued a vehicle thought be using cloned plates along the M1 at about 02:30 on Thursday.

    Before the vehicle was eventually stopped in South Yorkshire, the Leicestershire unit said the vehicle "rammed them from behind into a wall at about 80mph"

    The officers involved "have not been seriously injured," Leicestershire Police said.

    Two men have been arrested for offences including attempted murder, theft, dangerous driving and failing to stop.

    The BBC has contacted South Yorkshire Police for a comment.

    A man stole a box containing wedding cards, cash and vouchers from Whirlow Brook Hall, before leaving in a Purple Nissan Micra, police said.

    The theft took place at the wedding venue on Ecclesall Road South on 13 November at about 15:30.

    Bus services in South Yorkshire face more disruption in the run-up to Christmas after drivers extended their strike amid an ongoing pay dispute.

    More than 560 Stagecoach employees in Sheffield, Barnsley and Rotherham took action after a pay offer was rejected.

    The strike, which was due to end this weekend, is to be extended by eight days, the Unite union said.

    A union spokesman said the action was "a last resort", but Stagecoach said the union was being "unreasonable".

    In a statement, the union said action in Barnsley and Rotherham, initially set to run until Saturday 4 December would now resume on Saturday 11 December and end on Saturday 19 December.

    Strikes in the Sheffield area, due to end on Sunday 5 December, will resume on Sunday 12 December and continue until Sunday 20 December.
