A seal that was rescued after a "low-speed pursuit" in Grimsby town centre is making good progress, staff at an animal sanctuary have said.
Humberside Police said the marine mammal, which was spotted beneath a car on Chantry Lane in January, led their officers on "one of our slower pursuits" before staff from Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue arrived to help.
The animal - which was very underweight when it was found - was later moved to the Mablethorpe Seal Sanctuary.
Chloe Drew, who has been looking after the seal, nicknamed Oreo due to his light and dark markings, said he was making good progress.
"As soon as he gains a bit more weight he will move on to another pool with deeper water - get nice and fat - and we'll release him back into the wild," she said.
