  2. Appeal for sightings of escaped 'dangerous sex offender'published at 09:08 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2022

    Police are urging people to report sightings of a "dangerous sex offender" who has absconded from an open prison.

    Paul Robson (pictured), 56, was reported missing from HMP North Sea Camp in Boston, Lincolnshire, at about 07:00 on Sunday.

    He is serving a life sentence for attempted rape and indecent assault.

    Det Ch Sup Andy Cox said officers were working on "numerous lines of inquiry" in the hunt for Robson and warned people not to approach him.

    "Robson is a dangerous sex offender and while he presents a particular danger to women and young children, I believe he can cause real harm to anyone he comes across," he said.

    "Robson could be anywhere in the country, and we are really keen to hear from the public with potential sightings so we can take this man off our streets."

    Robson, believed to be originally from Oxford, is described as white and of slim build.

    He is bald and was last seen with a long goatee beard.

    A man's died and another man's been arrested following a fight between two patients at a South Yorkshire hospital.

    Rotherham Hospital

    Police were called to Rotherham District General Hospital at about 20:55 on Saturday to reports that two men had been fighting.

    One of the patients, aged 48, died of his injuries in the early hours, officers said.

    A 47-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

    South Yorkshire Police said it's working with the hospital to establish what happened.
