    Images have been released of two men police are looking to speak to in connection with a theft from a Ripley shop.

    The goods, thought to be worth around £300, were stolen between 13:00 and 13:20 on Wednesday, August 22 from Wilkinsons in Church Street.

    The School Games National Finals is in full swing over in Loughborough.

    It's a bit like a mini Olympics with 1,400 young athletes from around the country competing across 11 sports.

    Netball, hockey and athletics are all on the agenda for today as well as cycling over at the Velodrome in Derby.

    This year five new sports are being included in the games - canoeing, netball, laser run, rowing and triathlon.

    Adam Peaty and Katarina Johnson Thompson are among those young athletes who have taken part in previous School Games.

    Highfields Park will officially reopen today following a £4.8m regeneration project.

    The Nottingham Park received £3.2m from the Heritage and Big Lottery Fund for the revamp, which has taken a year longer than was initially expected.

    The largest piece of work involved dredging the lake but they have also improved the entrance near the tram stop.

    James Diamond, parks development manager for Nottingham City Council, said: “We’ve completely revamped the entrance with all new path surfacing, new railings, new gates into the playgrounds to children can't run out in to the road or into traffic.”

    The project has also seen four gas lamps given a new lease of life.

    Mr Diamond explained: “These would have once been all the way down University Boulevard and these last four, we’ve electrified and re-lit for the first time in decades.”

    Police have confirmed a man died in the Beaumont Leys area of Leicester yesterday.

    Officers were called just after midday by the ambulance service who were concerned about the welfare of a man on Heacham Drive.

    He was later pronounced dead. His death is not bring treated as suspicious.

    Anglian Water cleared this out of a sewer recently.

    The water company said: "Yes that's fat from hundreds of roast dinners and chip fryers. Please don't put fat down the sink, it blocks pipes and causes pollution."

    A woman is due in court this afternoon charged with the murder of a newborn baby.

    Police have said the body of the child, who was born at 32 weeks, was found in Hinckley in April last year.

    Hannah Cobley, who is 28 and from Stoney Stanton, is expected to appear at Leicester Crown Court following an appearance at Leicester Magistrates' Court yesterday.

    A post-mortem has revealed two family members, who died at a caravan park in Forest Town, had been stabbed.

    Richard Thompson, aged 66, and his 48-year-old niece Lisa Butler were found fatally injured at Richard's home in Tall Trees Park Homes on Tuesday. Police aren't looking for anyone else in connection with their deaths.

    Lisa has been described by her family as "a much-loved wife and mother".
