    A man has been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm following an assault yesterday afternoon.

    A 37-year-old man was taken to hospital after he was attacked in Outram Street, Sutton in Ashfield, at about 19:50 yesterday. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening or life-altering.

    A 27-year-old man was arrested later in the evening and he remains in police custody.

    A man has been arrested after a woman had a handbag containing a "significant amount of cash" stolen during a robbery in Leicester yesterday.

    The woman, who was in her 50s, was knocked to the floor as she tried to stop the robber taking her bag in Raleigh Way at about 20:00, external.

    Police said the 32-year-old man was detained on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery but they believe another suspect may be at large.

    Cannabis with a street value of up to £200,000 has been tracked down using infrared cameras, police said.

    More than 160 plants were seized in Rolleston Street, Leicester, on Thursday after residents complained of a strong smell of cannabis.

    Police used a drone with an infrared camera to find the heat lamps used to grow the plants as they were initially hard to find because of the numbers of businesses in the area.

    Officers said an investigation was ongoing to trace those responsible for growing and selling the substance.

    A section of the A52 in Derby is to be closed overnight this weekend for pothole repairs.

    The city council says a stretch on the eastbound carriageway between Pentagon Island and Raynesway will be closed from 20:00 on Friday to 06:00 on Saturday to allow the work to be carried out.

    Flowers have been left next to Sheffield-born goalkeeper Gordon Banks' star on the Walk of Fame.

    He died last night at the age of 81.

    The flowers have been placed on the star outside Sheffield's town hall.

    A woman who suffered serious injuries after she was hit by a Land Rover has died.

    The 78-year-old was taken to hospital after she was struck in Mill Green Way, Clowne at about 10:30 on Friday but died yesterday afternoon.

    Officers have appealed for witnesses to come forward and want to trace a man who was wearing a high-vis jacket near the pedestrian crossing at the time.

    A lorry which caught fire while being towed away on a major road has now been cleared, police have said.

    The fire blocked the A453 between Finger Farm Island and Gateway Island near Castle Donington shortly before 12:00 today.
