    A 10-year-old girl who died after being hit by an ambulance in Nottingham has been named.

    Shaniqua Loftman-Smith was taken to hospital after the crash on Low Wood Road, Bulwell, at about 18:30 GMT on 22 December.

    Nottinghamshire Police released a picture of Shaniqua on behalf of her family, who have asked for privacy.

    A Nottingham City Council worker was clearing up a fly-tipped television when he was hit by a bowling ball thrown from a window, the authority has said.

    The council said a public realm operative suffered a head injury in the incident in Bilborough, Nottinghamshire, on Monday.

    Bilborough ward councillor Rebecca Langton said: "We are all shocked and saddened by this awful incident and our thoughts are with our member of staff and his family.

    "We wish him a speedy recovery and will provide all the support he needs."

    A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and remains in custody.

    Police in Leicestershire are appealing for information after a motorhome was stolen from a driveway in Burbage.

    A force spokesman said they received a report the silver Auto Trail 635 Sport had been taken from outside a home on Azalea Drive at about 23:10 on 29 December.

    Nottinghamshire Police said they were called to Radcliffe Road shortly after 07:00, with the 22-year-old man held on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol.

    Nottinghamshire County Council has warned those taking part in New Year’s Eve celebrations not to use a certain brand of sparklers following injuries to users.

    Klasek Turbo Sparklers (batch number 1801) were recalled over the Bonfire Night period after reports they were "exploding in people's hands".

    In November, a man from Lincoln said his Turbo Sparkler "went up faster than petrol" when it was lit.

    The council urged people to make sure any sparklers purchased were not subject to the recall.

    Police have appealed for witnesses after a 51-year-old man was attacked and robbed in a street in Newark.

    Nottinghamshire Police said the victim was near an alleyway in Albion Street when he was approached by a man on a bike at about 20:30 on Boxing Day.

    The suspect, who is believed to be in his 20s, asked for money before punching the man to the floor and taking a bag of shopping from him.

    The victim suffered facial injuries which are not believed to be serious.

    A man who was injured after being hit by a bowling ball thrown from a window is in a stable condition, police have said.

    The man, who is a Nottingham City Council staff member, was left with serious injuries following the incident in Strelley Road, Bilborough, Nottinghamshire, at about 09:20 on Monday.

    Caitlin Wright, from Swadlincote, had last been seen near Primark in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire, on Sunday.
