    Two men have been arrested after a car crashed into a sign while being followed by police, external.

    Nottinghamshire Police said the car was followed by officers shortly after midnight when it was spotted being driven erratically but failed to stop.

    It hit a signpost in Sandlands Way, Forest Town, about a minute later.

    The force said the car had been stolen from Derbyshire and was displaying fake registration plates. An imitation firearm was also found in the footwell on the driver's side.

    A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of driving with excess alcohol, possession of an imitation firearm, theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving and failing to stop.

    A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm and theft of a motor vehicle.

    An ice hockey club from Sutton-in-Ashfield is appealing for help to find their minibus after it was stolen overnight.

    Sutton Sting's manager Alison Frost said it was taken from the Sutton Road area some time between 23:00 on Sunday and 09:00 this morning.

    The vehicle is used by their youth and senior teams to travel to training sessions and attend matches around the whole country.

    "It’s smack bang in the middle of our season so we still have a lot of games to go to," said Ms Frost.

    She said they had only bought the minibus in September after several years of fundraising .

    “Money like that is not easy to come by, especially for a little club like us," she added. "It's a bit of a blow for us."

    A basketball match in Sheffield had to be called off on Sunday because the court was too slippy.

    The game, between the Sheffield Sharks and Leicester Riders, saw players injure themselves by slipping on the floor, external.

    The Ponds Forge match saw just a quarter played before being postponed due to safety concerns for the players.

    BBC reporter Peter Spencer said it's believed the floor surface was deemed unsuitable because the wrong type of detergent had been used on the court.

    The match will be rearranged, according to Sheffield Sharks.

    A teenage boy who was stabbed in Derby city centre on Sunday is in a stable condition in hospital.

    Derbyshire Police said officers were called to Thornhill Lane at about 14:00 after receiving reports a 16-year-old had been injured.

    The boy remains in hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening, a force spokesman said, and inquiries are ongoing.

    Police in Derby are appealing for information after a pensioner was left with facial injuries following an assault.

    The 76-year-old was talking along Reginald Street in the Rose Hill area of the city at about 18:45 on Saturday when he was attacked from behind, Derbyshire Police said.

    The man was knocked unconscious in the attack and discovered his watch was missing when he came to, a force spokesman added.

    Two people have been arrested after two police officers was injured when responding to a car crash in Nottinghamshire this morning.

    Nottinghamshire Police said one was punched in the chest and the other suffered a cut to his hand after reaching the scene on Station Road in East Leake at about 00:20, where a car had crashed into a lamp-post.

    A force spokesman said a 50-year-old man and a 40-year-old woman have been arrested on suspicion of driving while under the influence of drink or drugs and assaulting a police officer.

    A man in his 70s has died after the car he was driving left the road and crashed.

    It happened on the A6121 Bourne Road, near Essendine in Rutland, at about 15:30 on Sunday.

    The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. He had been driving a Citroen C5 estate and was travelling south when it left the road.

    Nobody else was in the car at the time.

    Bourne Road has since reopened following a police investigation.

    Firefighters have been dampening down hotspots following a blaze at an industrial estate in Leicester.

    Crews were called to Pandoras textile factory on the site in Wenlock Way on Sunday morning. The road remains closed today.

    The roof of the building contained asbestos but Public Health England (PHE) said it was unlikely people were exposed to the substance.

    People living near by were advised to close their windows and doors as a precaution.

    PHE said the risk to health was "very low" but if anyone experiences difficultly breathing as a result of the fire they should seek medical advice.
