A French bulldog, which was stolen from a house in Nottingham, has been found after a man abandoned it in a field.
Louise Hollox's four-week-old puppy Hope was taken in a burglary in Sneinton on 31 August.
A woman contacted Ms Hollox on Facebook telling her she had challenged the man in Bulwell as to why it wasn't on a lead.
The man had got abusive, she said, and ran off, leaving Hope behind.
Later, a council dog warden returned the puppy to Ms Hollox at her home in Sneinton and she "sobbed".
"She is back with her mum now. I'm over the moon she is home and thank everyone who shared the appeal," she said.
Since returning home Hope has been a bit unwell, Ms Hollox said, as she believed she had been fed cat food, but other than that she appeared to be well.
Nottinghamshire Police said the investigation into the burglary was ongoing.
