A woman was grabbed and sexually assaulted before fighting off her attacker and running away, police said.
Derbyshire Police said the woman in her 20s was attacked by a man - who had appeared from the Nutbrook Trail - on Derby Road, near Ilkeston, at about 22:10 last night.
Officers believe it was an "isolated incident" and issued an appeal for information.
Some operations are cancelled as Derbyshire's hospitals see a rise in coronavirus patients.
