    Traffic is slow between Lincoln and Newark, there's been a crash causing a problem on lanes in both directions.

    It's happened on the stretch between the A616 Great North Road turnoff and the B6166 Farndon Road turnoff.

    Allow for some extra time if you're heading that way.

    Traffic is now back to normal on the B1188 after a crash closed the road in Branston earlier.

    Several vehicles were involved.

  6. Offenders hooked in illegal fishing clampdownpublished at 16:09 British Summer Time 1 September 2017

    The Environment Agency has been clamping down on illegal fishing in Lincolnshire.

    Enforcement officers carried out 180 spot checks earlier this month along the River Witham, to ensure that everyone had a licence and rules were being observed.

    Officers said 15 anglers have now been served with notices for fishing offences.

    Peter Haslock from the Environment Agency says there's a good reason why they make sure people have a licence:

  7. Spoil heap to be removed in Grimsbypublished at 15:45 British Summer Time 1 September 2017

    Developers of a site on Humberston Avenue in Grimsby have promised to remove a spoil heap, after complaints from people living locally.

    Initially steps were taken to cover the spoil heap, but it has now been decided to remove it after people living nearby said it ruined the outlook for certain properties.

    Local MP Martin Vickers says he's pleased the developers have listened to the concerns of people.

  8. Lincoln Knights prepare to go off into the sunsetpublished at 15:27 British Summer Time 1 September 2017

    They've become a bit of a fixture in Lincoln over the summer but this weekend is your last chance to see the Lincoln Knights.

    The 36 painted figures were placed earlier this year to mark the 800th anniversary of the Battle of Lincoln.

    They'll be on show until Sunday.

    Some were vandalised and then repaired and one was even thrown in the river:

    But despite a bit of unchivalrous behaviour towards the knights organisers say the trail has been a great success.

    The B1188 is closed in Branston after a crash involving several vehicles.

    All the emergency services are at the scene but police say it doesn't look as though anyone is seriously hurt.

    Expect delays if you're heading through the village though.

    As day two of dressage continues, there are five British competitors in the top 10 places at the moment, all chasing Laura Kieffer who's on 37.0 penalty points on Veronica II.

    She's taken the lead from overnight frontman Michael Jung from Germany.

    He was way out in front on 38.9 on his mount La Biosthetique Sam FBW, with the UK's Gemma Tattersall now in third place on 43.0 on Arctic Soul and Izzy Taylor in fourth on 45.6 on Trevidden.

    The highest placed rider from the East Midlands is Willa Newton from Melton Mowbray on 47.0 penalty points with Chance Remark. She currently lies in 10th place.

    The organisers of Scampton Airshow say there will be tight security at the event next weekend.

    Airport style checkpoints, armed officers and random vehicle checks will all be used.

    Security has changed in response to recent terror events.

    Do you know what a jaguarundi is? Until about five minutes ago neither did I, but ARK wildlife park and rescue zoo in Stickney is about to get two of them!

    This is what they look like:

    They're small wild cats native to South America and you'll be able to see them yourself at the wildlife park from 9 September.

    The park says despite the name they're actually closer to pumas than jaguars.

    Replacement bus services are in operation in Lincolnshire because of a railway workers strike.

    The RMT union says the strikes are over safety concerns and driver-only trains. Buses will serving the routes between Lincoln and Retford instead.

    The strikes are set to continue on Monday so a similar replacement service will still be in effect.

    Lincolnshire has the most cases of knee and hip osteoarthritis in the East Midlands.

    There are 68,000 people with the condition in their knees and 40,000 people in their hips.

    Dr Vel Sakthivel is an orthopaedic surgeon at Lincoln County Hospital and he says it can affect people of all ages.

    The stories of people from North East Lincolnshire who have come through drug and alcohol addictions are going to be shared with others across the UK.

    Drug addiction

    A film submitted by the Foundations service, which is based in Grimsby, has been short-listed for a national award.

    It tells the story of some of their peer mentors, who have come through addictions themselves and now work to help others.

    It will now be shown to similar organisations around the country.

    A man has appeared in court charged with murder after a fatal stabbing in Mablethorpe.

    James Patrick Adam, aged 46, of Victoria Road, Mablethorpe was remanded in custody by magistrates in Lincoln to appear at the city's crown court this afternoon.

    Police have now released this picture of 36-year-old James Rudd, who died after the incident on Bank Holiday Monday in Mablethorpe.
