    Hope Bolger
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

Campaigners say they're still opposed to plans for a new waste transfer station on Long Leys Road despite a public meeting held by the company behind them.

Veolia said they wanted to give residents a chance to ask questions at a meeting last night after previously coming under fire for not being transparent enough.

    meeting

However, one of the campaigners, Jon Davies, says it hasn't changed their minds:

    Quote Message

It's a start, but the mood in the area is that we're 100% opposed to this development because it's inappropriate to a residential area. No matter how many questions and answers you get that isn't going to change.

Jon Davies, Long Leys Residents Association

The plans were initially rejected by the county council but Veolia are in the process of appealing against the decision and maintain Long Leys Road is the best place for the site.
