It's claimed that 300,000 future bookings for flights and holidays have been cancelled after the company ceased trading.

Nick, who is on holiday in Turkey with his wife said the first he heard about the cancellation was from a fellow holiday-maker on the beach.

    Quote Message

No-one's got in touch with us at all, which I thought was quite strange. We've had no texts no email, no correspondence whatsoever from Monarch.

    Nick Tinker

Nick, who now serves as the club's president, was due to come back this evening, but he's now due to fly in the early hours of the morning with Turkish Airlines.

Hopefully, he'll be back in time for Gainsborough Trinity's next game against Leamington:

    BBC Radio Lincolnshire

A swan in Lincolnshire that was left behind when its flock migrated for the summer will soon be reunited by its family and friends.

The rare whooper swan injured its wing earlier this year so it couldn't join the annual migration to Iceland.

It's been waiting for them at RSPB's Framton Marsh reserve near Boston.

The swan's family is expected to return in the next few weeks.

In the mean time, the swan has become a favourite among bird spotters, although they can't agree on a name for him.

The company has ceased trading and its 300,000 future bookings for flights and holidays have been cancelled, the Civil Aviation Authority has said.

Alan Gee was hoping to fly to Gran Canaria today to get married, but after a year of planning he, his fiancee and his family are stuck at Gatwick Airport:

    Quote Message

I'm meant to be getting married on Saturday. I've got 30 people stuck at the airport at the moment waiting for flights. We've got disabled children with us and all my family has come from Lincolnshire by coach and now they can't even get home."

    Alan Gee

Mr Gee adds: "I've spent £12,000 on my wedding and now I can't even go and get married. I'm gutted, absolutely physically gutted.

"My missus is in tears, she's an emotional wreck. I'm gutted. Monarch are an absolute joke."

Lincoln Castle's copy of the 1217 Charter has been joined by another copy from 1225.

It's seen as a major step forward for the rights of citizens, including serfs and peasants.

    Quote Message

It stopped a lot of abuses in the forests. It was a big thing and it made a big change. It was a very kindly document and it did a lot of good things."

  15. Next stop The Netherlands in search for lost Lancasterpublished at 10:18 British Summer Time 2 October 2017

    Martin Slack
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

Later this week I'll be reporting on something very special...

    Martin Slack

I'll be watching as a team of archaeologists try to retrieve a Lancaster Bomber from the bottom of a lake in Holland.

The Avro Lancaster of 61 Squadron crashed in the lake during a night bombing run from the UK to Bremen, Germany, in 1942.

It's thought the crashed aircraft may contain the remains of tailgunner F.J. Cooper, from Canada.

It's a long journey to get there, but I've just finished the first leg with my trusty broadcast vehicle.

More updates from me throughout the week as I follow developments.

  17. Broken bridge closed for repairs: Public reactionpublished at 09:24 British Summer Time 2 October 2017

    Katie O'Halloran
    BBC Radio Lincolnshire

A little over a year after it was built, a £12m bridge in Lincoln has closed for two months.

Network Rail says the footbridge over Lincoln High Street's level crossing has several problems with its construction and will have to be resurfaced.

People wait at the foot of the bridge

Pedestrians now have no choice other than to wait at the barriers as a train goes past.

    Shoppers aren't impressed:

    Quote Message

£12m on a footbridge and just over a year it has to be closed for two months for urgent repairs, surely whoever built this white elephant has some serious questions to answer. Somewhere down the line, someone has dropped an almighty clanger.

    Brian Thornhill

    Quote Message

What a waste of money. When are people going to be held accountable for making these decisions spending £12m on this non-functional joke of bridge. Value for money: zero.

A bomb disposal team was called to the scene to make the device safe and people were asked to avoid the area.

    Quote Message

This is an old World War Two base so it's fairly common that something like this would be found. During the Second World War, this is where the troops were based before they went off to Germany."
