    Quote Message

I know that an awful lot of Americans do come over especially to visit Boston Lincolnshire because of the connections with it and with Hussey Tower being right in the centre of town I'm sure it'll become more of a destination to visit on your trip to Boston

    Seb Tiley
    Reporter, BBC Radio Lincolnshire

The number of two and five year old children in Lincolnshire having the MMR vaccine does not meet the national target.

    VaccinationImage source, AFP

Figures show that between 88% - 91% of children in the county had the jab to protect them from measles, mumps and rubella.

The target rate is 95%, which is enough to prevent the diseases spreading in the community.

    Quote Message

Immunisation is a very important preventive part of the health service. Particularly for something like measles which is a very infectious illness an uptake rate of anything under 95% leaves to community susceptible to measles outbreaks

    Martin Slack

There's no evidence that crime has gone up in areas where streetlights have been switched off in Lincolnshire, according to a report by Lincolnshire Police, external.

    Street light

Senior police have been gathering statistics over the past few months and they say although there's been a slight increase in offences, it's not possible to link it to the county council's money-saving policy.

Crimes considered in the report included burglaries, violence, robberies, vehicle offences and cases of criminal damage in the areas affected by the changes.

About 42,000 street lights have been switched of between midnight and 06.00 by Lincolnshire County Council, external to save £1.7m a year.

    Quote Message

At present we believe there is no link between the introduction of part-night lighting and levels of crime.

    Shaun West, Assistant Chief Constable

The police say they will continue to monitor crime levels and report any concerns to the county council should they arise.
