It's part of a £140,000 policing operation for the four-day event which attracts a quarter of a million people.

Police say the blocks - which are filled with sand - are just a precaution.

They are designed to stop potential attackers from driving vehicles into crowds of people.

It comes after concerns about the performance of Thames Ambulance Service, which provides transport taking people to and from hospitals and surgeries for treatment.

The council met with Thames and the local Clinical Commissioning Group yesterday to get an update on the company's performance.

Holly Mumby-Croft, chair of the North Lincolnshire Health Scrutiny Panel, says the council will "continue to hold them to account, to do it in public and to bring to the public's attention what's going on with Thames":

Thanks to Lisa Harding for sending in this picture via Twitter which shows 10 Typhoon aircraft flying in formation over the Lincolnshire countryside.

It's not been officially released what the formation will be, but the aircraft in the centre of the picture clearly form a zero - so local residents are guessing the pilots are practicing forming a 100 in the sky.

    Harry Parkhill
    BBC Local Live, Lincolnshire

Boston's new flood barrier could mean a reduction in insurance prices in the town, according to the local council leader.

Currently parts of the borough are at high risk of flooding and after a tidal surge in 2013, which inundated homes (below), premiums have rocketed.

But yesterday the government approved the £100m Boston flood barrier - the biggest investment in flood protection outside London.

The leader of Boston Borough Council Michael Cooper says he hopes that will mean insurance companies will redraw their risk maps - leading to lower costs for residents.
