One of the engineering companies behind Boston's £100m flood barrier has revealed how it modelled the effect of the project on river traffic.
Several groups, including Boston-based fishermen, have voiced concern about the barrier's location and its effect on their vessels.
But specialist waterway engineer HR Wallingford has revealed this afternoon how it modelled a wide range of craft including dredgers, pleasure cruisers and fishing boats with computer technology.
The results of their work have been used to design the barrier, with work due to begin next month.
It's hoped the barrier will protect up to 14,000 homes by 2019.
