    Police say there are problems on the road this morning because of fallen trees.

    There are problems south of Lincoln city centre after a tree fell across Canwick Road.

    The A607 is closed in both directions between Grantham and Melton Mowbray this morning because of a "very large" fallen tree.

    It's between Main Street in Denton and Top Road in Croxton Kerrial.

    Police say the highways authorities are on scene.

    A third person has been charged as part of a murder investigation in Grimsby.

    Tony Richardson, 45, died in hospital after an incident on Old Market Place over a week ago.

    Gary Clarke, who is 34, has been charged with assisting an offender and will appear before magistrates today.

    Married couple Marc and Sarah Finnie, from Sutcliffe Avenue, appeared in court yesterday.

    Health managers are today due to confirm plans to shut a walk in centre in Lincoln - despite protests from thousands of people.

    The Monks Road Centre could be completely shut by the end of next month.

    A petition has been started to try to save what some locals say is a vital service. But NHS bosses say its services are duplicated.

    Six high powered off-road motorbikes are among a number of items which have been seized by Humberside Police, as they look to clamp down on criminal damage and dangerous driving across North East Lincolnshire.

    Warrants were executed in relation to the riding of off-road, high powered motorbikes in areas across the Peak District, the North Yorkshire Moors and Lincolnshire.

    It's alleged that during the off-road riding damage was caused to areas of natural beauty.

    Five people have been arrested and remain in custody.

    The UKIP MEP for Yorkshire and the Humber, Mike Hookem, says he has got what it takes to lead UKIP and put the party back on track.

    He has joined calls for the party leader Henry Bolton to resign, amid allegations about his private life.

    Mr Hookem quit his role as assistant deputy leader of UKIP on Friday, but says he would be prepared to step in and lead the party.

    Speaking to the BBC Mr Hookem said he believes the party needs to re-engage with people.

  17. Traffic and travel: Lane closure, A1 Granthampublished at 16:10 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2018

    Traffic is slow and queuing in both directions on the A1 at Grantham after a crash between the B1174 and the A607.

    A lorry was involved and there are now around 15 litres of fuel on the carriageway. The second lane is closed in both directions for the clean-up.

  18. Walk-in centre closure: Concern over alternativespublished at 16:01 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2018

    More now on the news that the walk-in centre in Lincoln could be closed by the end of next month.

    Thousands of people signed a petition last year to save the Monks Road centre but NHS Managers say its services are available elsewhere.

  20. Lincoln County Hospital back under 'severe pressure'published at 15:10 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2018

    The trust running Lincolnshire's hospitals says Lincoln County Hospital is back under "severe pressure" after high numbers of very sick patients arrived at the A&E unit.

    Pressure had been reducing since the new year, but the picture has changed since acutely unwell patients began arriving yesterday.

    United Lincolnshire Hospital's Trust says they also struggled to discharge patients over the weekend - leading to an additional build-up.
