    There are calls to bring more refugees into Lincolnshire with one community group fundraising to do it.

    Louth Churches for Refugees is applying to host Syrian familes under the Government's community sponsorship scheme.

    As part of this they will need to raise the funds for suitable accommodation and help with integration.

    Work will officially start on Boston's flood barrier today.

    The Floods Minister, Therese Coffey, will be in town to break the ground.

    The barrier, which is costing £100m, will protect 14,000 homes and businesses in and around Boston.

    About 100 people took part in a protest at Morton Hall Immigration Removal Centre over the weekend.

    Campaigners say the centre should be shut after four people died there within a year.

    It's also alleged there are high levels of drug-taking, violence between inmates and incidents of self-harm.

    The Home Office says an independent report published last year recognised the centre as well-run, with detainees being treated decently and in a safe and secure environment.

    The protest passed peacefully with no arrests or issues, according to Lincolnshire Police.

    The search for a Lincoln man continues today after he went missing following a night out with friends.

    Michael Hull, 25, hasn't been seen since leaving the Home nightclub in the early hours of Saturday morning.

    Lincolnshire Police say officers are concerned for his welfare and anyone with information about his whereabouts is being asked to get in touch.

    Women in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire are being encouraged to take up rugby.

    England Rugby is running training sessions called Warrior Camps, including one at Hornsea Rugby Club.

    The sessions are aimed at getting more women into the sport, and organisers say it's a great way to improve health and make new friends.

    Since the scheme started a year ago, more than 10,500 people across the country have taken part, according to England Rugby.

    An ejection seat manufacturer is due to appear at Lincoln Crown Court later following the death of a Red Arrows pilot in 2011.

    Flt Lt Sean Cunningham died from multiple injuries when his ejection seat activated on the ground at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire in 2011.

    Martin Baker Aircraft Company Limited has denied breaching health and safety regulations.

    UKIP's deputy leader has resigned in protest over Henry Bolton's refusal to step down as head of the party.

    Margot Parker, an MEP for the East Midlands, said that Mr Bolton had left the party in "limbo" and that he should go "sooner rather than later".

    Ms Parker will remain a member of UKIP and an MEP.

    Her resignation comes after the party's national executive committee (NEC) unanimously backed a vote of no confidence.

    Mr Bolton has faced repeated calls to quit over offensive texts sent by his former girlfriend about Meghan Markle.
