    Another Lincolnshire MEP has resigned his post in UKIP as the row continues over its leader.

    Jonathan Bullock says in a statement that although he remains fully committed to the party, he is resigning as its energy spokesman.

    He says the row over Henry Bolton and comments made by his girlfriend was a modern day "Profumo" scandal.

    Mr Bullock says he cannot serve under someone who has a close relationship with someone who has uttered such obnoxious views.

    A piece of work by a Lincolnshire artist which is currently on show in Hull is to go on display at the world famous Tate Modern Gallery.

    Jason Wilsher-Mills, who's from Sleaford, is currently showing Brave Boy Billy in Hull, after being the City of Culture's disabled artist in residence.

    The interactive sculpture will travel to London in March for an exhibition about disability in the arts.

    Police want to speak to this woman after the theft of two packs of nappies from the Wilco store in Marshall's Yard in Gainsborough.

    It happened last Friday, police say the packs were then hidden under a blanket in a pushchair.

    Mike Hookem the UKIP Member of the European Parliament for Yorkshire and the Humber, has launched a scathing attack on their current leader Henry Bolton.

    Mr Hookem resigned as Assistant Deputy Leader after Mr Bolton refused to resign over social media comments made by his former girlfriend.

    Henry Bolton has insisted he will not quit as UKIP leader, saying it was "time to drain the swamp" of malcontents within the party.

    In a statement Mr Hookem said Henry Bolton was not listening to what the membership wants and a total lack of communication typifies his leadership to date.

    Floods Minister Therese Coffey has backed the Environment Agency's decision to look into other options and says the current method of pumping sand onto beaches can't last forever:

    East Midlands Ambulance Service said the call was one of many unnecessary requests made to the emergency number.

    Other examples of spurious calls included a person worried about a dead fox, someone with a broken toenail, another who wanted a taxi home and a patient waiting to be seen at a GP surgery who didn’t want to wait 30 minutes for their appointment.

    With more than 2,500 999 calls handled every day, the ambulance service said people should only phone the number in an emergency.

    Two people have appeared in court charged with the murder of a man who died following a street attack in Grimsby last week.

    Tony Richardson, 45, died in hospital after he was assaulted near the Halifax Bank in Grimsby last Monday.

    Marc Finnie, 44, appeared this morning at Hull Crown Court. His wife, Sarah Finnie, 36, appeared via video-link from prison.

    No pleas were entered and the couple, of Sutcliffe Avenue, Grimsby, were both remanded in custody, with the case listed for 8 May.

  13. Closure looms for Lincoln walk-in centrepublished at 10:35 Greenwich Mean Time 23 January 2018

    Lincoln's NHS walk-in centre looks set to close at the end of next month.

    The trust which runs it said it would close the service on Monks Road when alternative arrangements were in place for patients after the winter.

    It's planning to close the centre at the end of February, with a weekend-only service until then.

    Thousands of people signed a petition to save the Monks Road unit last year.

    The trust's board is expected to make a final decision on its fate on Wednesday.

    A third person has been arrested as part of the investigation into the death of 45-year-old Tony Richardson in Grimsby.

    Mr Richardson was assaulted on Old Market Place on Monday 15 January and died later in hospital.

    A 34-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice.

    Marc Finnie, 44, and Sarah Finnie, 36, both of Sutcliffe Avenue in Grimsby, have been charged with murder and they're due to appear before Hull Crown Court later today.

    Boston Borough council is on the lookout for a new anti-social behaviour officer and whoever takes up the post must be able to speak another language.

    The languages the council are looking for are are Polish, Russian, Latvian or Lithuanian, with funding for the position coming from the government's Controlling Migration Fund.

    A former head of the RAF says he's pleased an ejection seat manufacturer has admitted failings after the death of a Red Arrows pilot.

    Flt Lt Sean Cunningham died after he was ejected from his aircraft while it was on the runway at RAF Scampton in Lincolnshire in 2011.

    A five-week trial was due to start yesterday, but the company, Martin Baker Aircraft Limited, changed its plea and admitted the charges.

    North Lincolnshire actress Sheridan Smith is in the running for a National Television Award this evening.

    Smith, from Epworth, is nominated in the Best Drama Performance category for her role in The Moorside as Julie Bushby.

    The BBC docudrama was about the faked abduction of Shannon Matthews.

    Smith is up against David Tennant, Jenna Coleman, Suranne Jones and Tom Hardy for the award.

    Flood defences on Lincolnshire's coast are being reviewed over fears the current system is unsustainable.

    Currently, thousands of tonnes of sand are pumped onto our beaches every year, but the Environment Agency says it's not a long-term solution.

    Public consultations are expected to take place next month and it could include the creation of groynes - where rocks are stacked on top of each other out to sea to form new defences.
