    Jobs at Five Star fish in Grimsby are under threat as the company consults on the plant's future.

    The company says despite recent investment the site is heavily loss making and they've been unable to turn it around.

    Five Star Fish say they've undertaken a full review of their business and in the long-term - the site at Grimsby is not sustainable in its current form meaning almost 400 jobs at the factory could go.

    Five Star Fish say despite investing £6m back in June 2016 it's been impossible to turn this into any profit.

    The company says no final decision has been made as yet.

    It comes as the government has announced proposals to make people pay a deposit when they buy drinks, bottles and cans.

    The deposit will increase prices but consumers will get the money back if they return the container.

    The number of children being home schooled in Lincolnshire has almost doubled in the last five years.

    Figures show nearly 900 youngsters are taught at home now - there were more than 470 in 2012.

    The idea is often criticised for lacking structure and for potentially leaving children with fewer social skills.

    One of the best boxers in the world, the WBA, IBF and IBO world title holder Anthony Joshua is coming to the Embassy Theatre in Skegness.

    He is coming to the venue as part of a tour.

    It remains to be seen if he will still be holding the belts when he arrives in May though - he's putting them on the line this weekend against New Zealander Joseph Parker at Cardiff's Principality Stadium.

    The pilot of the Red Arrows Hawk jet that crashed in Wales last week has been discharged from hospital.

    Flight Lieutenant David Stark (below) was injured after ejecting from the aircraft during the incident at RAF Valley.

    Corporal Jonathan Bayliss, (below) who was also in the jet at the time, was killed - an investigation is still ongoing to establish the exact cause.

    Some of the Red Arrows are flying back to their base at RAF Scampton today - the first time the aircraft have been airborne since the incident.

  11. Quarry plans: Company vows to continuepublished at 14:22 British Summer Time 28 March 2018

    More now on the blocking of plans for a 30-year quarry and landfill site near Grantham.

    As we told you earlier, a planning inspector turned down an application for a site in Denton - to the delight of local campaigners who've fiercely opposed it from the start.

    The firm behind the plans says it'll continue to look at ways of developing the site but campaigners say they shouldn't bother, as they're confident the result will be the same.

    An e-fit of a man suspected of trying to abduct a girl in North East Lincolnshire has been released by police.

    It's thought he tried to abduct the 16-year-old girl at a bus stop on North Sea Lane area of Humberston last Wednesday morning.

    Officers say she was approached by a man on crutches who then tried to push her towards a small white van.

    The girl managed to get away and was left shaken but unharmed.

    Humberside police say they are looking into a number of leads, but they are also appealing for any drivers with dash-cam footage who were in the area at the time to come forward.

    The man is described as 5ft 9in tall and in his 50s.

    A new group's being set up specifically for Lincoln City football fans with mental health issues.

    It's being organised by a group called Imps in the Community and, as well as acting as a place where fans can share their struggles, it will look into ways to make match days more accommodating to people with anxiety and depression.

    Kirsten Parslow, from the group, says many people are suffering in silence:

    Plans for almost 200 new homes in Waltham, near Grimsby, have been turned down.

    Cyden Homes wanted to build the development but North East Lincolnshire planners voted seven to one against the houses being built.

  17. RSPCA 'capture' rubber scorpion in Granthampublished at 11:20 British Summer Time 28 March 2018

    RSPCA officers were called out to Grantham after a report that a "deadly-looking scorpion" had been found in the street - only to find it was made of rubber.

    They got a call from a concerned member of the public who told them that she'd managed to "cone it off" after it was spotted by a child.

    Animal collection officer Paula Jones immediately raced off to Grey Friars to capture it safely.

    But when she arrived she quickly realised it was a toy.

    The people who rang the charity stood in the street for two hours to ensure that no one went near it!
