    The ambulance service which serves northern Lincolnshire says additional funding would help it recruit more paramedics and put more vehicles on the road.

    East Midlands Ambulance Service (EMAS) has asked local health commissioners for an an extra £20m a year to help it meet response targets.

    The average response time for the most critical cases is currently two minutes above the national target.

    A new east coast attraction, which is part of a plan to bring a billion pounds worth of new tourism to Lincolnshire has been delayed by the recent bad weather.

    When it opens the North Sea Observatory at Chapel Point north of Skegness will be the first of its kind in the UK.

    But work on the £2m centre been delayed by bad weather and unexploded bombs. It's now expected the centre will open in June.

    Ambitious plans to turn Viking House in Lincoln into student accommodation and demolish the former Taste of Marrakesh restaurant have been submitted.

    Viking House was initially including in the application for new luxury flats on the waterfront known as One the Brayford, which has already seen nearby Mill House converted into private apartments.

    Developers have now reconsidered pre-approved plans as they felt student accommodation would be better suited for the refurbishment of the second building.

    Over 200 student bed spaces would be created as part of Jackson & Jackson Developments proposals next to the Brayford waterfront which, if approved, would be split into two stages.

    A 70-year-old man faces 13 charges of sexual abuse against teenage boys in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

    Police say Dylan Lamb, formerly known as Johnathan Haythorne, of Queens Court in Scawby, has been charged with five counts of indecent assault, four counts of gross indecency and four counts of additional, serious sexual offences.

    The charges relate to offences reportedly committed in Rotherham, Doncaster and Brigg in the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.

    At the time he was working as a football coach in South Yorkshire and a hockey coach in North Lincolnshire.

    Mr Lamb has been bailed until his appearance at Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on 22 May.

    Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) in Lincolnshire will soon be working more hours at weekends to support regular officers.

    It's part of shift changes made by the force to tackle anti-social behaviour, missing people and criminal damage.

    The changes mean PCSOs will work an extra 30,000 hours at weekends each year.

    Senior officers say they will also be used to patrol the streets at night when people are out drinking.

    Another day of strike action has been announced on Northern trains, affecting services in Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

    Highways engineers have warned motorists of a five-day closure on a main road into Lincoln next month.

    Washingborough Road will be closed for five days to allow for a special crossing to be installed for heavy machinery working on the city's eastern bypass.

    Works will take place from 06.00 on Monday, 21 May to 18.00 on Friday, 25 May.

    Campers hoping to stay in Hobbit Holes and glamping pods in Lincolnshire will have to wait a little longer.

    There were hopes of building an attraction around a fishing lake in Potterhanworth, near Lincoln.

    Fresh from their planning approval success, the team behind the proposed Lancaster Bomber "gateway" sculpture has unveiled more details.

    And they're moving quickly, announcing an official ground-breaking ceremony for next month, with an RAF hero doing the honours.

    George "Johnny" Johnson is Britain's last surviving Dambuster, and he will do the honours at the site at Norton Disney, between Lincoln and Newark on 15 May.

    In a statement, the Bomber County Gateway Trust says: "The steel structure, reaching a height of 98ft above ground, will be visible to those entering the county and, being placed on high ground, will appear to be in flight on the horizon."

    Bill Skelly wants the courts to take harsher action after a series of incidents involving bites, headbutts and spitting.

    He's told BBC Radio Lincolnshire that he's now starting to put himself forward as a witness in cases where his officers have been attacked by the public.

    The ambulance service which covers Lincolnshire has asked for an extra £20m a year from local health commissioners in a bid to help it meet its performance targets.

    East Midlands Ambulance Service is currently reaching the most critically ill people in an average of nine minutes, two minutes short of its target.

    Bosses have said the extra funding should mean it can hit its targets in every county it serves by September 2019.

    A series of meetings is being held this week to decide whether the region's clinical commissioning groups will meet the cash request.

    Here's the latest image showing a new sculpture of a Lancaster Bomber which is planned for the Lincolnshire border with Nottinghamshire:

    Planners gave the scheme the go-ahead at a meeting in Sleaford last night.

    The Bomber County Gateway Trust wants the structure - next to the A46 between Lincoln and Newark - to be a similar scale to The Angel of The North.

    The area is known as "bomber county" because of the number of military airfields it had during World War Two.

    A fundraising campaign is under way as the group need to raise £100,000 to pay for the sculpture.

    The Mayor of Boston has said people in the town need to stand up and fight proposals which could see the closure of Pilgrim Hospital's children's ward.

    The United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust is looking at five different options for the future of paediatric care in the county.

    The children's ward, which has eight beds, could shut in June and patients send elsewhere.

    Maternity and neonatal services may also close in July, although low-risk births would still take place.

    Hospital managers blame a staffing shortage, but insist that any closure of the children's ward would be temporary.

    But councillor Brian Rush has described it as an "insensitive reorganisation" and says it's the opposite of what should be happening:
