    A scheme to help reunite beachgoers with lost family members is being relaunched in Skegness today.

    The Sandi the Starfish, external project, run by Lincolnshire Police, aims to help find the vulnerable children and adults who go missing on the beach throughout the summer.

    A large flag is now being displayed next to the RNLI lifeguard tower - it's designed as a safe place for children to go if they get lost.

    Special wristbands, which have a space to write a parent's mobile number, are also being handed out for children to wear.

    "Concerned and disappointed" is how the leader of Lincolnshire County Council has described the news that the minor injuries service at Grantham Hospital is being reviewed.

    The hospital's A&E department was closed overnight in August 2016.

    In September an out-of-hours minor injuries unit opened - the service runs from 18:30 until 23:30 and costs £130,000 a year.

    The South West Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group say it is not financially viable and have launched a survey, external asking people for their views.

    Councillor Martin Hill said there is no mention of where people would go for treatment if the service closes.

    A recycling firm in Lincolnshire has submitted plans to nearly treble the amount of waste it collects, according to the Local Democracy Reporting Service.

    Mid UK, at Grantham, wants to increase the tonnage it handles from a 130,000 to 360,000.

    Councillors will make the decision next Monday, with the plans being recommended for approval.

    A review is to be carried out into the minor injuries nursing service at Grantham Hospital.

    The unit saw 65 people last year at an average cost of £2,000 per visit - and the trust which runs it says it's not financially viable.

    In a letter seen by BBC Radio Lincolnshire, the South West Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group says it is "keen to hear from local people on this matter".

    It says it will launch a survey for the public to have their say.

    The hospital's A&E closed overnight in August 2016 and was replaced by the minor injuries service.

    The Arc is part of Ongo's £9m regeneration project in the Westcliffe Estate.

    It's now home to a number of new facilities in the area including a nursery, youth club, enterprise zone and post office.

    The trust which runs Lincolnshire's hospitals says it's missed its financial target by more than £5m.

    United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust had agreed a deficit target of £77m, but new figures show the overspend was just short of £83m.

    Managers are blaming winter pressures and increased spending on agency doctors and nurses.

    Overall across the rest of the country England's NHS trusts are in the red by a total of £960m - nearly twice the amount they'd planned for.

    The price of a stall at Lincoln Christmas Market is to stay the same for returning traders - but new stallholders face paying more, following a vote by city councillors.

    New stallholders will face an 8% rise, while returning stallholders will pay the same as in 2017.

    Last year, organisers decided to close the Christmas Market on the final day after heavy snow was forecast but never materialised.

    Maintenance work is being carried out on the Humber Bridge this morning, which could cause some delays for drivers.

    New devices to help patients with dementia are being rolled out across Lincolnshire hospitals.

    RITA

    RITA, which stands for Reminiscence Interactive Therapy Activities, is a system which uses interactive apps and programmes to aid patients' hospital recovery.

    They can use the touch-screen computers to listen to relaxation music, watch BBC archive news footage and look at old photographs to help spark memories and start conversations on the wards.

    So far, RITA is being used at Lincoln, Boston and Grantham hospitals and has proved effective in calming distressed or anxious patients.

    Jodie Barwick, a dementia practitioner at Boston's Pilgrim Hospital, says it makes patients more comfortable on the ward:

    Grimsby Town have signed Chesterfield defender Alex Whitmore for an undisclosed fee on a one-year deal.

    Police say they're concerned for the welfare of a missing teenager from Brigg.

    Humberside Police said 17-year-old Daisy-May Burton has a number of health conditions.

    She left her home on Thursday evening, telling her family she was going to Grimsby, and hasn't been in touch with them since.

    She has links to Peterborough and officers believe she could be in that area.

    She is described as being 5ft 4in tall, slim, and has long dark hair.
