Road safety campaigners oppose rural road limit cutpublished at 13:57 British Summer Time 4 July 2018
Road safety campaigners say reducing speed limits isn't the way to make Lincolnshire's roads safer.
A new report for the Department for Transport, external suggests a 5% cut in speed limits would reduce road deaths, especially in rural areas.
But road campaigners say it could have the opposite effect.
Lorry driver Scott told the BBC "it would make it worse" on roads like the A15 north of Lincoln.
"Driving at 50 all the way down here you're going to have a lot more people overtaking on bends and brows of hills," he said.
"The only way to solve the problem down here is to dual carriageway it the whole way."
Quote MessageWe wouldn't support a blanket cut in the speed limits on A roads to 60 mph, the reality is cars are improving all the time but sometimes when there is good investment in roads. Roads are improved to aid traffic flow and can be very good quality."
