    If you want to get a taster of next week's RAF centenary flypast over the Mall in London then look no further than Lincolnshire.

    Thieves destroyed a cash machine and broke into the co-op store.

    It happened in the early hours of this morning, according to police.

    Anyone who saw what happened or has any information about the incident is being asked to contact police.

  5. Hospital trust to stay in special measurespublished at 11:30 British Summer Time 3 July 2018

    The trust which runs Lincolnshire's hospitals has improved after being placed into special measures, according to a new report.

    The Care Quality Commission report says United Lincolnshire Hospitals (ULHT) Trust has made improvements since April last year.

    The trust, however, will remain in special measures after going from an overall rating of "inadequate" to "requires improvement".

    Two areas of concern were emergency services and children's services at Boston Pilgrim Hospital, the report says.

    Jan Sobieraj, chief executive of the trust, says the new report is a real step forward:

  7. Playground vandals cause £20,000 damagepublished at 10:57

    Vandals in north Lincolnshire have caused £20,000 worth of damage to playgrounds over the last few months.

    Parks in Scunthorpe and Barton have seen equipment burnt and broken.

    The RAF will be using the skies over Lincolnshire today to rehearse for next week's centenary flypast over the Mall.

    Most of the 100 aircraft taking part in the RAF100 event will be participating in today's practice, which centres on RAF Cranwell.

    The Lincolnshire-based Red Arrows and Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will be involved in the flypast next week.

    Police have named a motorcyclist who died in a crash in north Lincolnshire on Friday.

    Gregory Ross Kelly, 47, from Broughton, was killed in a collision with a farm vehicle on the A1077 at Roxby Causeway near Winterton.

    Humberside Police said it was still appealing for witnesses to the incident.

    A group of 17 students from North Kesteven Academy near Lincoln are heading to Tanzania today to put their building and teamwork skills to the test.

    The Year 10 students will be away for three weeks.

    They'll spend time helping to build three schools in Moshi, a city near Mount Kilimanjaro.

    They and their families have been fundraising for more than two years to pay for the trip.

  12. Cleethorpes £7m regeneration to begin in Septemberpublished at 08:24 British Summer Time 3 July 2018

    The first phase of a mutli-million pound project to regenerate Cleethorpes has been given the go ahead.

    More than £7m will be spent on improvements.

    North East Lincolnshire Council gave approval to the plans, external and work is due to start in September.

  13. One dead in A1 multi-vehicle collisionpublished at 08:00 British Summer Time 3 July 2018

    Police have confirmed one man died in yesterday's multi-vehicle collision on the A1.

    The collision involved three heavy goods vehicles in a queue of traffic caused by an earlier accident on the road.

    The crash at Little Ponton caused serious congestion and the road was not opened until 02:30 this morning.

    Two men in a white DAF lorry were seriously injured.

    One was airlifted to the Queen's Medical Centre at Nottingham where he is detained with serious injuries.

    Sadly the other man in the cab of the lorry, believed to be in his late fifties and from the London area was pronounced dead at the scene.

    Two other people were taken to Peterborough Hospital for treatment.

    A £100 reward is being by a community group to try and find who is responsible for graffiti attack at a conservation area in Bourne.

    Police believe someone in the Bourne area knows who is responsible for the damage at the Elsea Meadows conservation area and are urging members of the public to come forward with any information.

    The cash for the reward has come from the Elsea Park Community Trust.

  17. Appeal after woman assaults man in Lincoln High Streetpublished at 16:48 British Summer Time 2 July 2018

    Police are appealing for witnesses after a man in his 70s was assaulted in Lincoln city centre last month.

    The attack happened on the High Street at about 14:00 on 16 June outside the Argos store.

    A woman with a pushchair and two children accused the victim of deliberately bumping into her.

    She then assaulted him, causing a split lip and a black eye.

    The woman is described as of mixed race and was wearing a bright orange top.

  18. Leaders' letter keeps up pressure over hospital's futurepublished at 16:15 British Summer Time 2 July 2018

    Two Lincolnshire council leaders have written a joint letter calling on health officials to publish their plans for the future of Grantham Hospital.

    Matthew Lee, leader of South Kesteven District Council, and Martin Hill, leader of Lincolnshire County Council, says United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust and South West Lincolnshire Clinical Commissioning Group should make their plans public so people can have their say.

    In August 2016, the hospital’s A&E department was closed overnight, leaving the town and surrounding district without a full emergency department from 18:30 to 08:00.

    The closure was described as temporary, but is still in place.

    Last month, it was revealed that the hospital's nurse-led Minor Injuries Unit, introduced when the A&E overnight closure came into effect, was under threat.

    In their letter, Councillor Lee and Councillor Hill say: "Residents fear Lincoln, Boston or Peterborough are too far away and they will not receive emergency treatment in time, should they require it."
