    Works to improve Wragby Road in Lincolnshire are going to take longer than expected.

    Lincolnshire County Council says the work to improve footpaths, install new signals and resurface the highway should now finish in August.

    The delay is being blamed on unknown underground cables and equipment being discovered during the works.

    Thousands of people have gathered outside Buckingham Palace to watch a flypast of aircraft to mark the centenary of the Royal Air Force.

    100 planes representing the RAF over the years flew over The Mall following a parade by personnel.

    Volunteers are being invited to take part in a major two-week archaeological dig from 17 to 28 July in Epworth, North Lincolnshire.

    The site is thought to be a medieval manor house linked to one of the greatest families of the Middle Ages, the Mowbrays.

    Volunteers will join a team of archaeologists find further evidence of this famous manor.

    A fridge/freezer had caught fire and been smouldering unnoticed for some time.

    An investigation has been launched following the discovery of a body at a disused building in Scunthorpe.

    The body was found in the building on Cliff Gardens, police said.

    It hasn't been formally identified and a cause of death has not been established.

    A cordon is in place at the address, and officers remain at the property as the investigation continues.

    Official figures show traffic on the road rose dramatically after it was turned into dual-carriageway and many residents nearby say it's continuing to grow.

    A new machine, which could turn roadside grass cuttings into electricity, is being unveiled in Lincolnshire today.

    The harvester collects the grass and takes it to a local anaerobic digestion plant.

    Before now, the cut grass from verges was left by the county council to rot down.

    The council says removing the cuttings from the roadside will also help encourage and protect wildflowers, slow the regrowth of grass, and reduce the need for roadside cutting.

    It'll also reduce the council's costs.

    Yorkshire and the Humber is the second most dangerous region in the UK for vulnerable road users in HGV collisions, with the South East being the most dangerous.

    The figures come from charity Roadpeace, external, who say many lorries on our roads are not fit for purpose - due to blind spots and a lack of safety features.

    They want drivers, councils and companies to sign up to CLOCS - a scheme which tackles the issue by ensuring vehicles are safer and also responsibly driven.

    A North East Lincolnshire by-election will be held for the Freshney ward in the borough following the resignation of a local councillor.

    The election will take place on July 26 after Labour councillor Ray Sutton stood down.

    Mr Sutton resigned from his seat at the end of May as he is moving out of the borough to be closer to family.

    The ward will remain a Labour seat until the by-election is held.
