    Nearly £3m will be spent on improving safety on a stretch of road north of Louth where a family of five (pictured) were killed.

    Relatives and friends of the Cockburn family, from County Durham, visited the site of the road in March 2016 to see what could be done to improve the road's safety.

    The funding will be spent on widening the A18, from the junction of the A46 near Laceby to the A16 near Ludborough.

    The family were on their way to a dance competition at Butlins in Skegness five years ago when they crashed.

    It will include a cinema and a café.

    The council hope to introduce the rules to help ensure the town retains its picturesque setting.

    Pizza Hut has confirmed it will close its Boston branch later this year.

    The company says it's currently in discussions with staff about relocating them to other restaurants in the area.

    The shop is to close to ensure the restaurants "are in the best possible areas to meet consumer demand", the firm says.

    It's due to close in November.

    Five patients in the East Midlands waited more than 16 hours for an ambulance.

    One 95-year-old woman who had a fall waited more than 17 hours for a crew to arrive.

    The figures come from a BBC report into ambulance waiting times between June 2017 and June 2018.

    East Midlands Ambulance Service said those who were left waiting were not classed as serious or life-threatening and the bad weather in March caused further delays.

    They added they're now hiring more staff and more ambulances to improve responses.

    In May, the the service requested £20m to help hit response time targets.

    Parents in Lincolnshire are being warned to immunise their children after outbreaks of measles have been reported across the country.

    Cases of measles in Europe have hit a record high, according to the World Health Organization, with 807 cases in England so far this year.

    Public Health Lincolnshire says that although the county has so far avoided an outbreak of the highly infectious illness, parents should immunise their children before they go back to school.

    A 34-year-old man arrested on Monday in connection with the murder of a man in Grimsby has been released under investigation.

    Peter Craven, 48, died at a property in Oxford Street on Wednesday 15 August.

    Two other men arrested in connection with Mr Craven's death have also been released.

    A 35-year-old man has been released on conditional bail, while a 47-year-old has been released with no further action.

    Police have renewed their appeal for anyone with information about Mr Craven's death to get in touch.

    Boston's fire crew has been called to a combine harvester fire at a village near the town this afternoon.

    Firefighters used two hoses to put out the blaze on Maryland bank in Amber Hill.

    The force says a thermal imaging camera was also used to check for hotspots on the machine to find where the fire began.

    No-one has been injured.

    The Environment Agency has released a new aerial view of progress on the Boston's multi-million pound flood barrier.

    The barrier will offer improved protection from tidal flooding to 14,000 properties.

    The next step in the process is to continue to a build a special dam in the centre of the river, which will have water pumped out in order to build the foundations of the main barrier.

    People in parts of Benington and Burgh-Le-Marsh, near Skegness, are to receive improved 4G coverage, according to Vodafone.

    4G is a frequency which allows mobile phones to access internet services at higher speeds.

    The phone company say that until recently there was only intermittent 4G coverage, especially when indoors.

    It now claims users should be able to have full 4G signal at all times.
